extreme pubic hair

Anyone got a clue why my hair developed a pubiclike appearance? I mean it's ridiculously coarse, can't use a brush on the sides of my head without the brush getting stucked in my hair. Yesterday when I finally managed to comb trough, a big lump of hair was stuck in the comb, nowadays very much hair is lost during brushing, a shed?? I started finasteride feb2004 but stopped in november 2004 due to militaryservice, but in mars I picked up the train and started with dutasteride for a month and swithed to splitting proscar into 4th since may. My hair is very thin now, I'm 19. Is that gap between november and april responsible for the sudden loss of density? and why is my hair like a unwashed mat? someone claimed that DHT is responsible for whisker hair development.

Any answers are greatly appreciated even though most answers can be found, but I always like assesments based on my own situation :D

Good luck to you all with your future endeavors in the hairlossbattle

can I recover what's lost during those 4 months? I'm using fincar, nizoral, selsun, and I'm planning to take one dutpill a week, this is my current regime

Master Chef,

You should do I hope but it will take a while.

Be careful of taking dutasteride and finasteride together, if you're gonna take dutasteride, you don't need to take finasteride.

Keep it up though and pray to the hair gods.

Thanks man, I have a one year supply of fincar so it will take a while before I run out of it, hopefully things will happen, I'm experiencing some shed I think, balls of hair got stuck in my comb yesterday, lose very much in shower too. Got any clue why the hair changed texture from straight wavy to extreme curly pubic? cheers

I previously said you have probably shed due to treatments.

I thought you were on a bout the texture of your hair.

Just stick with it all dude.

your hair went from nice, straight(ish), healthy to curly, kinky (puby), corase, dry and hard to style?

its called acquired progressive kinking of the hair :agree:

it indicative of that fact that your hair is very sensetive to androgens. ive been taking dutasteride for over 6 months and the situation has improved alot; my hair is returning to its former texture. however, i would still say there is about 40% more to go, hopefully next time i get it cut all the kinky hair should fall off, and the new hair should be fine

Yes exactly, it took two years for my hair to tranform to this mess. Does it mean that you have a better chance of responding well to antiandrogens like finasteride and dutasteride? since androgens are responsible for kinking of the hair

well, it depends. no-one has really done an research into this. my own experince has showed that, by six months down the line, with 1(ONE) mg of dutasteride (thats twice the daily dosage for BPH) per day and occasional nizoral use, that the puby appearance of my hair is beginning to rectify itself. i have not had anymore hairloss since starting (but continue to shed 100+ hairs a day), in some small areas hair appears slightly thciker (eg the hairline) and is easier to style now. however, i havent made any major breakthroughs nor am i non-responder. i havent hand any sheds to note either. so all im hoping for is continued improvement, maybe a couple of months down the line i will have significant regrowth!

Good Luck my friend!

ps. remember im not using minoxidil cos i cant be assed with that sh*t.
