I am using liquid minoxidil with a buzz cut.

This stuff is literally just drying and flaking on my scalp. After a few hours my scalp has a white hue to it, and later on at night / the next day there is a layer of white dried up Minoxidil that resembles dandruff. It's not dandruff, just the minoxidil.

Is this supposed to happen? Is it being absorbed? I don't massage it into my scalp. I had the 1ml and just try to cover my scalp / balding areas with it.

(My theory was "massaging" the Minoxidil would result in basically rubbing alot of it off onto your hands)

Sounds like maybe you’re using too much. Although you’re following directions, there should be more absorption. Are you using after your head is clean? If not Maybe sebum/oil on scalp is not allowing good absorption. I have used Kirkland didn’t have this problem.

It does happen with the liquid, the stuff leaves flakes like dandruff when it dries. I only use the foam now and I have no issues.

I use it after Regenepure DR. Definitely clean. Thanks for the reply!

Is it still being absorbed?
I’m sure some is being absorbed. I’ve been using a tea tree oil shampoo daily. Totally cut out the nizoral shampoos . Leave in for like 5 minutes to totally soften scalp. Slick the suds back after the 5 minute soak and take a stiff bristled brush which u keep in shower, and scrub scalp. Brushing scalp and u will notice white, scaly skin on bristles of brush the first few times. Scalp should be slightly sore when done. Rinse. Apply minoxidil on freshly scrubbed scalp. I also add peppermint oil and tea tree oil to my minoxidil. Try it and good luck.

Yes I would think so, the liquid does this to a lot of people though. I would suggest using the foam if the flakes really annoy you, I apply the foam to slightly damp and clean scalp after a shower, it definitely absorbs as long as you make sure you get most of it on the scalp and not stuck to your hair.
