As you may know, I am 18 and suffering with one of the worst cases of hair loss for my age. It was accelerated due to an eating disorder which made me lose a significant amount of hair. I am thinning diffusely on the top and sides of my head, whilst being an NW1.5. Within the past month, I finally decided to put matters in my own hands; it was a realisation that I could either be miserable and progressively balding, or I can do something about it and be happy.
On the [ 21st March 2019 ] I have started taking 100MG of spironolactone and 2MG of estradiol - I ordered these medications online. However, I have officially been prescribed spironolactone today and the dermatologist has recommended 50MG for the first month, and then increasing to 100MG on the second month, and then 200MG on the third month. I don't think I'll start with the 50MG, mainly because I doubt the effectiveness and because I paid for the 100MG and I don't want it to go to waste! I am hoping to be prescribed cyproterone acetate and estradiol, in which my dermatologist referred me to an endocrinologist for those. Also, I see a hair specialist soon who can possibly prescribe me dutasteride...
Furthermore, the side effects I'm currently experiencing is mainly just a significant reduction in libido. I may experience further side effects in the future, in which I will document too.
