Well tomorrow is my big day, I'm starting propecia! And I'm so excited as things can only get better for me as of tomorrow. Just wondering what I should be expecting when starting propecia, I'm a strong believer in everyone reacts differently to things we aren't all the same. Also if I should just stick to the propecia on its own and maybe a good a shampoo as I don't want to bombard my system and hair with things. Any recommendations as to what would be best fellas?

[stating the obvious] If you "strongly believe in everyone reacts differently" maybe you should not ask us "what you should be expecting"? So, when you do, you (will) see what happens. Go go go!

You'll be fine. Pop that pill and know you're doing all you can to stop the balding, long-term. Then go about living your day. Take pictures every month or so (in identical conditions each time) to gauge the situation. Don't panic if you have a shed at some point.

You're doing the right thing. You may want to use minoxidil as well, but finasteride is definitely the most effective treatment available today.

Expect to meet symptoms of low libido, signs of gynecomastia, reduced body hair (effeminate), all these in some extent.
Don't want to discourage you but a last reminder.

I have been on the drug for over a year and a half and I haven't experienced any of the stuff Mageirast mentioned above. I wouldn't mind the loss of some body hair, but nope still have more than enough. What I have experienced is regrowth and a good amount of it too considering I was very late to treating my hair loss.

To OP, be aware of possible sides, but don't preoccupy yourself thinking about them.

To some extent = to some degree. A degree could be a unremarkable from a different point of view though.
Passing one year without experiencing visible side effects, it doesn't necessarily mean that this represents a guarantee of not expressing any of them at some point of time

You are right. There are no guarantees when it comes to hair loss or hair loss treatments. What is a guarantee is that if you leave your hair loss untreated, you will go bald.

That's correct too. Having genetic premises, inevitably the point of no return will come up.

Could anyone explain to me the reason I've got a red card with-14 points on my reputation along with the message "welcome back". Really want to know the reason in order to correct myself in the future.
Thanks
I'm not desperate to found out but... anyway

To OP:-
If you get on finasteride, do post your pics
