Alopezie.de: FAQ for administering cetirizine to fight hair loss
This is not a collection of Alopezie.de, but the preparation and answering questions made by users of Alopezie.de
What is prostaglandin D2?
PGD2 has been recently identified as the main cause of hair loss.
At sites that are affected by hair loss, the amount of protein was three times higher than in non-affected by hair loss points. The protein was administered locally in another experiment mice, whereupon the respective places of hair loss
were affected. Therefore, to assume that in fact is the cause and not the effect of hair loss PGD2.
What should cause cetirizine?
Cetirizine is known to inhibit the protein prostaglandin D2 (PGD2).
It is hoped that the inhibition of PGD2 stop hair loss and, ideally, leads to hair growth on bald already set.
Cetirizine is an anti-allergic and anti-asthmatic drugs, thousands of people take it, it would not have noticed because when it stops hair loss?
Yes and no. We assume that it is not first taken long enough to sufficiently inhibit PGD2 and to stop hair loss and stimulate hair growth. Rather, it is only used seasonally (in the spring in bloom). A known side effect of cetirizine on the other hand hair loss, where we assume, however, and hope that the measured loss of hair shedding is rather positive, as is the case with the use of minoxidil.
Other people have already tested (successfully) for cetirizine combat hair loss?
Since about June 2012 the topical use of cetirizine is tested by some forum users. Most report that the itching of the scalp is alleviated significantly. It is also reported by increased hair loss (shedding). At least one of the users reported regrowth in balding. Other users ask again found no regrowth. This is due to the different aggressiveness of hair loss as well as to the different regimes of the individual users (some use besides cetirizine nor minoxidil and finasteride). Last not stir the different results of the
Prescription (see below).
I've heard enough, I want to try it also, as I mix them all together?

The user Pilos has posted two recipes of different concentrations.
Recipe 1:
Zutaten1:
50 tabs cetirizine
50 ml of distilled water
30 ml of ethanol (70%)
Propylene glycol 20 ml of different concentrations are used.
Howto1:
First Step: 50 cetirizine in 50 ml of distilled water dissolve (let stand for 24 hours)
Second Step: projection (ie 50 ml would be) to give an extra glass
Third Step: 30 ml of ethanol (70% ethanol) and 20 ml PG add
Recipe 2:
Zutaten2:
100 Tabs Cetirizine
80 ml of 40% ethanol or vodka who (32 ml + 48 ml Hair Tonic water) or 80 ml
20ml propylene
Anleitung2:
Disintegrate completely. Stir or shake occasionally /. If everything is suspended 20 ml propylene glycol is added.
Shake vigorously leave all that is not soluble settles. Only the supernatant above the sediment is used. Thus removal without (!) Vortexing, otherwise hang fillers in her hair.
Which recipe is better?
Which is not known.

I read constantly of "PG", which is PG?
PG is propylene glycol and is an ingredient for topical use of cetirizine.
Anyone tried one of the currently topical mixtures with cetirizine?
For this purpose a table was created where some of the users have registered and also enter updates. The table can be found
here:
But there are more users use it, but not to participate now in the documentation.
I mixed the whole thing according to the instructions but I have flakes float on the surface, is this normal?
These are the fillers, ie, the sediment is described in the recipes. You have either not waited long enough until everything settles or taken from the supernatant wrong (you've stirred up).
I can not run the whole through a sieve?
With screening / filtering is not as much. It is plastered / get clogged filter / strainer. If strainer / filter are too rough, eh goes through everything.
What is the optimum concentration of cetirizine for topical application?
Unfortunately none of us knows that we are testing now.
When is ever likely to be a success from the topical application?
As with any hair loss fighting method you should go through with it 4-6 months in order to achieve success.
Shedding is the only temporary?
We do not know.
Where can I read through the whole detail?

I have a brilliant idea, I can not resolve the cetirizine in Minoxidil?
No, cetirizine is only soluble in water.
Can I use cetirizine simultaneously with minoxidil?
We do not recommend, because nothing about the interactions of minoxidil and cetirizine are known.
I have a question which is not answered here, what should I do?
Put the question to the forum. If it's a common question, it is purely in hindsight here.
