Doctors have told me one-on-one, or have posted online, at least four causes for shock loss as a result of hair transplant surgery. The doctor usually says that X is the major reason or implies that X is the only reason for shock loss, but doesn't provide any evidence. These causes have included:
* anesthesia
* no, it's not anesthesia, it's epinephrine
* grafts stealing blood supply from existing hairs
* trauma from all the incisions made
I haven't seen any studies supporting or refuting any of these claims. Does anyone have greater insight into this problem?
This matters because I think I may have had shock loss after my FUT, and the real cause will affect what kind of surgery I'd get in the future.
