estrogen causes hair loss

This is from an article written by Nick Delgado, PhD:

"Some studies suggest that even hair loss and baldness may be associated with high-fat diets that stimulate the overproduction of testosterone, which is converted to bad estrogen. DHT often sited as the bad guy in hair loss is only part of the picture. In fact, testosterone actually can assist or enhance hair growth on top of the head provided the estrogen levels are management. In the ideal situation, Testosterone is in the highest concentration, followed by DHT, which might make up close to ¼ to 1/3 the total androgen load, and estrogen will make up the lowest portion of concentration. However, when estrogen increases too high, the testosterone receptors are blocked by the estrogen, and testosterone will be crowded out. This leaves the door open for DHT to take the dominate position."

I think it is healthy to debate things ad nauseam.

I can just picture Bryan screaming at his computer right now. LOL. Sorry Man!

Good find! :punk: DIM helps to eliminate active estrogen from the male body by promoting its conversion into the "good" metabolites. The result is a healthier balance of testosterone to estrogen and more free testosterone circulating in the body. In scientific studies high levels of testosterone and low levels of estrogen have been linked to lean body mass, an efficient fat burning metabolism and low abdominal obesity. Other benefits from testosterone are improved mood, more interest in sex and better physical conditioning and more efficient weight training.

DIM use by men provides a promising dietary means to minimise the impact of increased estrogen on atherosclerosis and prostate disorders, characteristic of the effects of changing estrogen metabolism with ageing

Hm, still afraid of doing anything effecting my hormones, even if it claims to be that safe.

Bryan what do you think about the following statement from what I posted before:

"However, when estrogen increases too high, the testosterone receptors are blocked by the estrogen, and testosterone will be crowded out. This leaves the door open for DHT to take the dominate position."

Thanks.

What do you guys think of DIM?

Dim is really good but you can add Calcium D-Glucarate also. Google it.. Really inexpensive and effective.

As Slaga further explained, "C-D-G is about eliminating excess levels of steroids and sterols and balancing the androgen:estrogen ratio. It's about keeping the 'system' between the lines, so to speak, hormonally, metabolically, etc.,

Calcium D-glucarate (C-D-G) is a nontoxic patented form of glucaric acid that is easily absorbed, active in small (and inexpensive) doses and bioavailable in the body for relatively extended periods. Glucaric acid is present in different fruits and vegetables and is made in very small amounts by our own bodies. However, as science has discovered with regard to most beneficial phytochemicals, even if you ate as much of the appropriate foods you could, it would still be difficult if not impossible to consistently get the amount of C-D-G more conveniently available in the supplement.

If you read the research a lot of anti-oxidants that help to regrow hair ie tocopherol, tocotrienol, resveratrol, chocamine, SOD, etc will act as an anti-estrogen in the presence of high estrogens levels, but on the same note will act as a very mild estrogen when estrogen levels are far too low.

There are two extreme sides here IMO neither is correct and as you can see the answer is in the middle of the road.

Finally DIM does a lot of good things for the body and also acts as a mild antiandrogen.

Solving this problem along with inflammation and excessive oxidation are the other parts to the puzzle.

Otherwise Finasteride and/or Dutasteride would be the answer for everyone, but it is not.
