Have you ever noticed any difference on your erection levels? Are they worst or normal as usual, after starting to take finasteride/Propecia/prosc?

I fear that my power may go down with that.

i've had a decrease in sexual desire and it's a lot harder to maintain a woodrow but.....i only started finasteride 3 weeks ago. they say it should dissipate with time but who knows. i might halve the dosage if things don't seem "up".

Also, I get pretty bad nutache toward the night time. during the day it's fine for some reason. I actually get morning wood (!) although this may be a result of the 2mg arginine i take before bed. hopefully the sides go away in a few weeks.

What's your age and at what time are you taking your finasteride?

I'm 25, almost 26 and I take it first thing in the morning.

I never noticed any difference. Even after 5 years on Propecia (I'm 41 now), I never had a problem "performing" when in bed with the wife. It even became a bit of a joke ("gee dear, it's ashame the Propecia made me impotent, huh?") between us, as whenever she just says hi to me, I get... you know.

You didn't notice ANY change in funtion in the beginning? I feel ok other than nutache toward the nite time and it's harder to get it up. libido seems in tact and things seem to be improving slowly, however there is a definite change in erectability.

It's funny though; I don't know if it's from the L-Arginine I take before bed or what, but I usually wake up with morning wood which most people lose on this stuff. It actully wakes me up!

Well, I admit I don't remember five years ago very specifically. But I'd imagine if I'd had problems, I'd remember THAT, lol. The nutache though definately killed the mood at the time.

LOL, it's SUCH a stupid design by Nature. I almost wish the morning thing HAD left me. It's a pain in the arse when you wake up desperately having to pee, and the damn thing is pointing at the ceiling. That's yet another little joke between my wife and me... if I wake her up when headed to pee, she'll start yelling out names of women who seriously gross me out, lol, to try and help ;)

Testicular ache. A dull, aching sensation, often only in one testicle. It seems most people who experience it report that it goes away within a few months. Mine did anyway.

But it's very uncomfortable.

I'm taking generic Prosar and after cutting it into fifths I looked at those tiny little fragments and doubted they would have any effect at all.

Well, from the second day onwards I haven't felt in the least bit.....well you know! I'm single so I see it as a blessing for now but I hope this isn't the start of a very limp future.

Since I started propecia 2 weeks ago, I got nutache everyday, often in the evening and only in one testicle. I`ll wait 2 months longer, if it wont stop I quit propecia.

I dont think there are 2% who suffer side effects. As I look on my friends who are on propecia and read posts, truth is there are 2% who dont. :!:

Merc is liar and propecia is scum, but.. there is not anything better to prevent hairloss.

You know, it's been almost a month since starting finasteride and the nutache is just about gone. I'm also happy to say that my libido is back. I was with a girl last night and had no trouble down there. I guess that I'm one of the ones who get side effects, but it looks like it DOES clear up with time (at least with me).

I know everyone is scared of sides, especially permanent ones, but as time goes on, I think things settle down.

Just so nobody gets scared away from propecia, know that side effects are not the norm. Just that people with sides are more likely to post.

I never suffered any sides. In fact, my libido went up.

28, been on finasteride for 3 years and 1 month.

No change in the morning glories.

No change in the quality of the… err… wood.

No problems maintaining.

No nutache.

No sides.

(Knock on wood… no pun intended)

I unfortunately had bad sexual side effects on Propecia:

Impotence, first and foremost (I stuck it out and this eventually went away)

Very Bad Libido (Unfortunately, I had almost no libido for the first 3-5 months)

Difficulty Getting it you know (Until I quit)

I got all these side effects. I was one of the few. And it sucked. Furthermore, Propecia wasn't effective at maintaining my hair. I might just have extra sensitivty to androgens.

Since then,
I've been on Dutasteride (2 months now). I haven't suffered any sides (knock on wood) and my regime appears to be working a bit better.

yeah dutasteride and finasteride are definitely different drugs when it comes to effects on the body. i had good results from dutasteride for 1.5 years until i became allergic to it (or something like that). I didn't experience any sides other than that. I jumped on finasteride and experienced some sexual sides but they are pretty much gone after a month.

Nearly 3 weeks on propecia. Strangly is making things a bit more 'exciting' when the big man decides its time to explode
