I wonder how much energy I spend on the fact im losing my hair. My hair was always the part I liked most about myself, and i cant cope with it all. I cant study.. I sometimes feel the urge to see myself in a mirror and see how my hair looks. Its what I think about for like 95 % of the time, really. I ve become this sensitive guy who I dont want to be. I wanted to be a good looking hot shot investment banker, now im just feeling like a looser and that its getting worse everyday, damn this sucks. This hairloss is taking all my energy and turning me into a complete looser, ugly one too aargh!!

it definitely sucks.. i used to have hair that along with my looks got me lots of attention from girls.. now that i'm losing it.. i have to comb it in another way that doesn't make me look my best and doesn't get me much attention..just some.. i definitely know what you're going through.losing my hair has made me a different person. i miss the past..but i'm not one to dwell on it.. it would be nice to have the hair i did at 18 though just for a little while to know how it feels to have all that hair again. i would love to comb it all back and have it like i used to instead of forward to conceal signs of thinning

Yeah it sucks. I was in the same boat and thought I was the only one, then I discovered that many had the same problem.. going from outstanding thick, hair to losing a good amount. I am seeing results however, so this is very motivating. I would recommend taking 5-htp 3 times daily for anxiety issues. I am and it does wonders for me.

Do you need help with your hairloss regimen? There are cheap alternatives to every expensive medication thats out there if you don't have a lot of money.

i'd hate to burst your bubbles, but ..98 % of people just slow down hair loss with what they take..or maintain what they have..or most of what they have...we'll never have heads of hair like we used to. without the help or transplants..and least not for a couple of years. i'm pretty sure we'll all be pretty bald by the time a cure happens.. companies are making too much money on their products to want someone with a cure to come out.. there'e probably a cure now and these companies are paying them money to keep shut. yeah i know.. i pulled that out of my ***..but you never know

Well I never said I expected to regrow my hair to my 18 year old hairline, but many people on this board have had success with regrowing lost hair to a certain extent to where they were happy. Yes there is a lot of money in the treatment of hairloss, but I would be there would an exuberant amount of money for a cure for hairloss.

But yes, these chemicals only treat the symptoms of hairloss, not cure hairloss.. and yes their effects will wane as the years go by, but there are also many new products on the horizon, ie.. RU, dutasteride, fluridil that have not been widely enough experiemented with to give any concrete results. Anyways, there is reason for hope.

how long does it take for effect of propecia, minoxidil, etc to wane off?

honestly, like everything else, everyone is completely different. Atleast 3-4 years, possibly 5 years, 10 years, maybe more.. I think brucelee has been on propecia for a good long time, I would ask him what he thinks.

Actuall in the FDA trials of both drugs, men grew back hair aplenty.

I spent a lot of time initially concerned with my hair, to the point where it became almost obsesive. Eventually it wears off. Once you become informed and know you are doing all you can, you just kinda leave it be.

Yea its just the first couple months of hairloss. The first couple months for me where unbearable. All I would think about all day was my hair. It was on my mind 24-7 and was all that I would think about all day. It took over my life. But it starts to go away with time. I still think about it but not as much anymore.

I think its normal. You had your hair your whole life and then all of a sudden you start to lose it. I think you become saturated with "hope" to regrow it and thats why it takes over your mind. Its not like you can have your hair for 20 years and just accept that your losing it over night. Just takes time to get used to your hair situation. It really helps if your hair gets better also.

God has really helped me through my hairloss.

History of my obsession

Started:-
2nd November 2003, after my hair thinned all over from stopping minoxidil.

My obssesive and unhealty activity:-
1. Surfing this site, HLH, Hairsite and Regrowed 24/7 (I am having unlimited broadband access)!!!

2. Frequent the toilet mirror every half and hour to see if there are any new regrowth.

3. Order all sorts of Hair loss product just to wonder if it will work for me.

4. Staring at my Notebook monitor to see BY THE SECOND if they have found THE CURE FOR MBP( I think my glass lenses need to increase power0

My resolution:-

1. To get my self surfing p**rn sites more often THAN THIS SITE. (but my libido is being ruin by propecia)

2. To get a life.
