I too asked about Emu Oil last week, but my post was deleted due to the site changes , some ppl did however respond by saying that they mixed the emu oil with their Nizoral shampoo, so I'm sure the hair wont feel as greasy also its kinda like killing 2 birds with one stone. I would also think that the emu oil would help with the absorption.
I remember reading in a thread a while back to actually apply the emu oil right after a minoxidil application. Not sure if thats the best way, but that is how I always do it.
i'm not sure that woudl work well since shampoos are designed to attach to the oil in the hair and remove it in the shower water. now it will just remove the emu oil.
I've used emu oil for probably about 8 months. It's been an amazing help with my scalp condition. Before I started it my scalp would always crack and I would have scalp bumps...and bumps with puss. I first started using Nizoral, it helped a little, but did not remove all the scalp bumps and it would still crack occasionally. I started the emu oil a couple months after the nizoral and now i very rarely have a problem with the bumps or cracking. As far the absorption with the minoxidil, or any improvement there, I'm not sure, as I started both around the same time frame; although I think just the maintenance of a healthy scalp alone from the emu oil is enough to help promote new growth with the aid of the big 3.
I just started on the emu oil, 3 weeks into it , to early for any evaluation, however that stuff is marvelous i used it on a part of my skin that had irritation , then woke up the next morning with that part almost 85% healed, next day the irritation was gone, truly amazing.
