The New Scientist is a relatively reliable source. But based on experience, I don't expect this to work
I don’t “expect” it too either but we’re not scientists - they are.

Fingers crossed is all I have to say about it.

As you know already, much of the dissonance comes from the fact that "work" means

To proponents, any amount of hair regrowth with any regime at any cost

To us, aesthetically significant regrowth on a bearable regime and affordable price

This treatment is nothing new, and I honestly don't think it is going to work. But I'll try to be open-minded and say that maybe there's a 2% chance it will work.
