I'm a 20 year old male and I've been freaking out over the possibility that I'm losing my hair. I never really paid much attention to my hairline but now I am and I'm wondering if it looks like I'm starting to lose it in the front. I haven't noticed any excess hair falling out, but my roots seem more visible when I come out of the shower and such. Is this all in my head or does it look like I'm starting to lose it? (pics below).

That measurement is pretty close for me. I don't see a different with the center of my hairline but I haven't really ever tracked the sides before this. I can't tell if the hair is miniaturized or normal because my hair generally grows in blond

Also I have pictures from about 2 months ago and they don't look very different. is that a good sign?

Generally its a good sign(two months might be too short to get an accurate assessment). I honestly think you're just stressing over nothing. Your front looks fine and I don't see signs of thinning. If your hairline isn't straight anymore that's pretty natural.

You have the dips going up only very slightly but to me doesn't even look close to Norwood 1 stage, just monitor it for another couple of months taking photos with pretty close to similar angles.

As for finasteride/Minoxidil; the importance is Finasteride is more for maintaining hair, while minoxidil is more for growing hair. So in your case finasteride would be the better option, and I feel like minoxidil would just be a waste on your current hair/hairline.

Would I have to get a script for that? Is there any other way to get it

Generally a prescription is the best way to get it yes. But if that isn't an option for you; there's always the option of ordering online.

I'm guessing you live in the USA, so a dermatologist is your best bet. But a GP also works, even a family physician. With how your hair looks I feel like you'll have a hard time getting a script, so when asking about getting one it would be best to mention your concerns and why you want to be on finasteride. Even if you say it's just an early precaution.

Also if you do go to try and get a prescription try to bring your family history in regards to Male Pattern Baldness on both your mother as well as father's side. Such as their current Norwood rating, if they're aware of the scale even. Or just take it upon yourself by looking at recent photos.

I added more pictures with wet hair. Does this make it more clear?
