Hi guys, I'm currently a 25 year old male who has always had super thick hair. Around January 2018, I took a close look at my hairline for the first time and couldn't remember if it had always looked like that or not. I took pictures of the hairline but mostly brushed it off as nothing. One day around March, I noticed that I could see fairly significant scalp through the part in my hair near my right temple. This is probably normal for most people, but my hair is honestly so thick that I could never really see my scalp even when my hair was wet. This discovery was very sudden and has gotten me thinking about the possibility of male pattern baldness.
I compared my current hairline (April) to the pictures from January and cannot discern any difference. For the moment, it seems to be holding. My crown seems to still be solid (can barely see anything even when hair is wet) and looks the same as always. The parting in my hair is greatly concerning me however. It doesn't seem to have changed since the initial discovery in March. Have not noticed thinning anywhere else.
Genetics wise I feel I will either get extremely lucky or extremely unlucky (probably unlucky...). My maternal grandfather and uncle were both pure NW7. Hair on the sides and back but absolutely nothing on top. My uncle was straight bald NW7 by the time he was in his early 30s. Not sure when he first experienced hairloss. My father is about 60 now and is totally immune to hairloss of any kind. All family on Dad's side has hair immune to time. I have my mom's hair texture and my dad's hair color.
What do you guys think? Again, the perceived loss is occurring only above the right temple and only at the hair part. Hair in the immediate vicinity has not been affected (yet). Hair part is essentially wider than it was before.
