Hi guys,

I have read a lot of comments on here about Dutasteride only working for 5 years, is it the same for Propecia

I was NW4a at age 23. I got on propecia, and it has stopped my hairloss it its tracks for the last 6 years. How can I be so sure? Because I got hair grafts, and to this day there is no recession between the grafts and the original hair. I know where the grafts are because their density is so thin.

Some people told me my hair looked darker after I got on propecia. They did not know I was taking it. They just noticed and told me, with a puzzled look on their face.

I've been using finasteride for 13 years and it's become less effective. I'm still a NW2 but my hairline has receded a bit for the last months.

So is it safe to say that at the five year mark on Dust you could switch to finasteride? I am coming up on 5 years so trying to think ahead.

If you don't have a sustained increase in shedding why bother changing your regimen.

And the best answer to your question is how long is a piece of string.

I have noticed a difference in the thinning and shedding, I know that people can not predict what my out come will be. I am more interested in knowing if anyone who found dust stopped working after 5+ years tried going back to finasteride, and what the out come was.
