dutasteride and finasteride combined?

Currently on finasteride, minoxidil, nizoral. Just started the minoxidil and nizoral 2 months ago, been on finasteride for over a year. finasteride doesn't really seem to be working, I'm still thinning. Hoping the minoxidil and nizoral will help. I really want to start on dutasteride, but I'm nervous about stopping finasteride completely (might need more time to work, and maybe it's actually slowing the hair loss). Think taking 1mg finasteride and .5 mg dutasteride per day would be ok? Experience with this and/or opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

finasteride needs at least 6 months to see good results, give it more time, i wouldnt go to dutasteride till you absolutely think you need to

the minoxidil/finasteride/nizoral is the best possible way to attack it from all angles, i choose to wait propecia out ayear before staring my minoxidil again (used it for two months 1 month in on Propecia and stopped) The best thing to do is stick with the treatment you started with consistently.

I have tried finasteride 1.25mg with dutasteride 0.5mg a day and all I can say is it made me shed lots and lots nonstop for 4 months please don't try it. If the finasteride is not helping as much as you would like try just switching to dutasteride but don't try both. :shock:

I alternate the two daily, as opposed to taking both each day...you could try that. I've never really shed that bad from it, results have been steady maybe a slight gradual deterioration over the space of the last two years but i see that more as a slow progression of male pattern baldness which no current meds can stop for a long period of time.

Troymaclure, try switching just to dutasteride once a day you could still be getting an interaction of the drugs in your serum. I think you will find you will improve if you just switch to dutasteride.
