I feel those pics i posted before don't give a true representation of where my hair loss is at.

I don't know if I should bumb up my dose or just wait until the 18 month mark.

I may post pics later, I dunno though.

Your hair does look better in 2nd pic, its certainly no worse and that's good news even if you can just get to slowdown. If you saw the amount of loss i've suffered after 5 months on dutasteride then you really wold be down. Keep it up it appears to be working for you.

It does seem the reduced dose is better for many here..I did get the straw effect after 3-4 months and now i'm on 2-3 tabs per week hair is beginning to be less straw like....still losing fast tho :(

tricomin is very gentile. i use it at the hair line, not sure if it works or if its the minoxidil, but tricomin has caused me absolutely no irritation at all, minoxidil on the other hand was very irritating, although interestingly enough after three months or so it doesn't irritate my scalp nearly as bad as it used to.

Here is a shot of my crown at a little over month 12:

what do you guys think.. i have a lot of inflammation in this area.

I tried folligen and it was not good for my scalp as I expected (more money down the hole!!!! yay!!!)

I have upped my dutasteride dosage to 1 mg a day thinking about going up to 1.5 for whatever little extra protection I can get.

Does this look like maintenance?

Yes, I guess I should be happy with these results. I have aggressive male pattern baldness so I shoudn't expect miracles.

blueshard,

where do you get your dutasteride? Is it generic? Pics like this make me want to get on dutasteride, especially since you thought you lost hair and the pics show otherwise. makes me doubt what other posters are saying.

I dish out the money for Medical Wellness Center to ship authentic Avodart to me.

I then take some generic Dutas with it to make my daily dose 1.5mg.

So when I take my dutasteride I take one genuine Avodart and 2 dutas (generic)

That is the way to afford 1.5mg per day. That $49 prescription and $100+ for Avodart from a physical pharmacy just is too much for me. I can't afford that.

I buy Proscar for $100 from my university pharmacy, and cut it in 4ths, and $25 per month really bothers me. I can afford it, but it is nothing to sneeze at. I am tempted to go dutas EOD, for $15 per month, but I just worry about stuff. My crown is starting to thin. I can totally see it in the mirror, even though my webcam does not pic that up. But Proscar has been keeping the loss very slow for many years and I'm just not interested in getting on a generic right now. I'm hoping spironolactone in my nizoral, and white curcumin in my PO shampoo will do the trick.

best way to test it is to buy one of those creams and put it on your beard.

i am losing ground.... really bad scalp inflammation, etc.

i don't feel like living AT ALL.

i am going to go to the big 2.5 mg of dutasteride per day.

I have tried with my entire soul to accept my hairloss but it has been in vain.

so, here i go.

probably will die from it or some sh*t.

the inflammation response..

the inflammation is my follicles being burned up followed by fibrosis (scarring).

you ever notice that bald men have really shiny scalps? that is fibrosis.
