dutasteride 0.5mg help

After been on finasteride for nearly 2 years I started to lose some ground and decided to start dutasteride (adovart) 0.5mg every other day . It's been about 2-3 weeks now and I've noticed an incredible itch at times ... I have added nizoral to my routine to see if this helps and I've just purchased some minoxidil. I've also noticed some small shedding .. What do you guys think could be happening . I had a bad shed on finasteride after about 6 months but things settled down after about 8 weeks

I tried dutasteride around May of last year. Within 2 weeks I had a TERRIBLE HAIRLINE SHED. Sooooo bad. Quadrupled the amount of hair in the shower. I could see my hairline thinning out by the day (it seemed). Stopped the dutasteride and just did finasteride and my hairline slowly recovered. I've heard that the dutasteride shed is something to be expected, but that the hair comes back stronger. Personally, I was too freaked out to continue.

Are you saying that finasteride stopped working for you? Two years is really nothing. There have been reports that some people get maximum benefits after 2 years and there are studies that finasteride continues to regrow hair even after 5 year mark. What I am saying that it might have been a periodic shed and you should have given some more time to see if you recovered with continued use of finasteride. In that way, you could spare dutasteride to fall back on when you really needed it

been on finasteride 11 months, now taking dutasteride (2x weekly) for 4 months, and my head started to itch more since taking dutasteride !! (still taking finasteride every day 2)

I think what the drug companies will do is once the Propecia patent runs out then they will market dutasteride and approve the trials then make additional millions.

Anyone take dutasteride with finasteride (dutasteride at 0.5mg per week)? Any issues? I plan to continue my 2.5mg finasteride daily then add 0.5mg dutasteride weekly. dutasteride ordered.
