Dupa/retrograde Balders Does Anything Work?

I’m posting this is the male section because I’d get diddly-squat from the women.

So I already knew about these types of hairloss “DUPA” and “retrograde” but until recently hadn’t put myself into these categories. My hairloss is 50 shades of f**ked up. I get diffuse all over thinning with some emphasis on the top and crown, but the WORST part is that I get vertical hairline recession of my entire line hairline - sides, temples, above and behind ears, nape... the whole shebang. The whole lot becomes miniturised badly and looks month eaten and starts to almost evaporate from the outside in. I also get thinning of eyebrow and eyelash hair. Up until recently I’d thought the hairline thing was due to low estrogen, because you see this is women sometimes who have gone through aromatase inhibition chemo, menopause etc. Thing is, even before minoxidil when I started taking HRT (the pill), it never helped my situation and still isn’t. Now, I will say that minoxidil does grow my hairline back in 2-3 month bursts, but then it recedes again back to a freakish level.. and so that cycle has continued for 2.5 years since starting minoxidil. My density everywhere has only gotten worse and worse. I tried spironolactone with no luck, I’ve been on avodart for 3 months and I haven’t seen any changes, only the same progression of hairloss and currently the “receding process”. I had low iron and got an infusion, I also take the highest dose ferretin/iron tablets available. Didn’t change sh*t. I’m on the verge of trying Sulfasalazine to see if this crap is an acutr inflammatory response, because no one with this kind of hairloss can seem to figure out how the f*** to fix it.

My questions are:
People with DUPA with retrograde recession, has ANYTHING worked? Like consistently. I can say minoxidil works.. SOMETIMES. But this 3 month hair growth cycle crap just isn’t doing it for me. Anyone? Anything? Am I just totally screwed?

I got Retrograde Alopecia too and so far nothing (with the exception of oral minoxidil) has worked consistently. I think I've asked you this through PM but too lazy to read through them all again, have you had bloodwork done? If I were a woman I would be trying to get my androgen levels down to those of a prepubescent child and further.

Yeah I’m on darolutamide currently to tackle the androgens.

Good luck! Are you dermarolling with it?
Yep. Derma stamp once a week all over my head. Also taking 0.5mg avodart and diane35. I threw in stemoxydine too just to see if it works. So far, not so good. My hairline is receding again and my density is going down as always. I really want to stop this weird process of recession and regrowth but I honestly haven’t got a clue why it’s even happening.

@AnxiousAndy your hairline regrew with minoxidil?
At least you are regrowing, even though you seem to keep losing it.. What an awful tease! Yea my hairline started filling in nicely and general density got pretty good for a few months then when I dropped finasteride my regrowth and more all went down the drain ( f*****g literally) so now I'm sitting on NW2.2 with slightly less than desirable density and its getting worse every day *sigh*
I hope this topical estrogen grows my hair before boobs develop. I can handle a little gyno though.

You use he 17-b estradiol topically??
Sure do, is there something wrong with that? (besides the obvious feminisation)

No! I was curious because I want to start using topical 17-b! How do you prepare it??
It comes prepared for you, it's a gel in a tube that resembles toothpaste. Just squeeze it onto the areas you to want to treat. It can be applied anywhere (arms, legs, etc) but I mainly apply to my hairline and neck

Oh I see I thought you meant like a specific topical for hair like ell cranell. See I already take 35mcg of ethinyl estradiol so idk about using estrogel.

That doesn't sound like alot. Aren't you supposed to be using roughly 4mg?

There’s a conversion table somewhere, but essentially it’s like 10x stronger than regular estrogen.
Maybe you're overloading your body with estrogen so that's why you're hair isn't growing? Your tits must be huge with so much estrogen in your system

@thetdog666 No not yet, I'm only 2 weeks in so its too soon to tell. Still shedding though. Today was better than others but I won't hold my breath. Until I've gone a week with noticeably less hair fall I will still consider myself shedding.

I’ve thought about this but dread the inevitable shedding that will follow if I come off it. My boobs are actually small for a few reasons: Genetics, exercise/weight training, and underdevelopment from having anorexia through my teens.
I’m not entirely sure what to do about the estrogen. I feel like it does play probably the biggest role apart from dht in all of this, but then technically diane35 should work really well like it did for Anty and lots of women. Hormones are so unpredictable and difficult to play around with. To be honest I was excited for Brotzu because it claims to have estrogenic qualities (s-equol), which to me might be really helpful given my hormonal issues... but that’s obviously been a big flop so here I am. Searching for answers once again while we all what for shisheido and Tsuji so maybe one day cure us all.
