I caught my hairloss pretty early (3 and half years ago) and have been using big 3 for over 3 yrs now. overall, it maintained my hair pretty well so far. recently the front and temples started losing its density like crazy.
Throughout the treatment, i always thought that the rogain actually miniturizing my hairs.

I want to drop rogain. I don't think it regrew any hair except for the first 5 months or so.. a little improvement. but after that it only thinned my hair and wallet. has anyone dropped rogain from their regime?
what should i expect when i stop using it?
any comments would be appreciated.

Well, my guess(I never dropped rogain) would be a very noticeable shed. The decline in density is probably your male pattern baldness progressing- that does not mean that minoxidil isn't still increasing your haircounts. I find it very unlikely that minoxidil is miniaturizing your hair as you were a good responder to begin with(first 5 months).

Eventually, after the shed subsides, your hair will probably come back to the state it would be today if you had never started minoxidil.

Have you been using 5% minoxidil? Would it be feasible to try the next level strength?

i heard someone using a term "minoxilization" of hair.
I think that term can effectively describe how i feel about rogain.
se-freak, yeah. you are probably right that rogain didn't encourage miniturization. however, I think the effectiveness of minoxidil has significantly declined after the initial regrowth. It's almost like illegal drugs. you get high and feel bomb as hell the first few times you do it but after while, your body just gets depend on it (no pleasure what so ever later). some people say our body build tolerance to minoxidil. I know all i'm saying has been discussed over and over again in the forum. But the bottom line is no one really knows the answer. so all we can do is discuss more.

Sorry guys i'm just mumbling about this sh*t.
I just want to keep my hair! this is my hair! why are they diminishing?
awwwww FML

Good luck.

The complete absence of even thinning hair from either side of my family is one of the few things that keeps me hopeful about retaining what I have and possible regrowing now that I'm on a regimen.

so, I didn't start using Xandrox15. It's been about 3 weeks since i dropped minoxidil and so far, there is no noticeable shed yet.

I switched to dutasteride from finasteride about a month ago. it is very difficult to measure how much of negative effects are there from dropping minoxidil and how much positive effect from switching to dutasteride. or vice versa.

The idea of keep applying minoxidil just because of the fear of shedding REALLY SUCKS.. TBH, I'm still tripping and paranoid becasue many posts i read reports there were significant shed after quitting minoxidil. Maybe a massive shed is coming soon.. i dunno.. i'll update any changes.

Larger % of minoxidil doesn't mean better results.
