Hello, I have been on minoxidil 10mg for a little over a year now and I’ve noticed I still have some hair shed so I am starting 1mg finasteride now and I was going to drop the minoxidil dosage to 5 mg just to avoid any side effects as I know 10 mg is considered a high dosage. How bad will the shedding be from dropping the dosage ?

Shedding might be from balding at this point. Finasteride will give you permanent results, Minoxidil doesn't do much on it's own, if anything.
Even if you respond to it, the effects wear off in a few years. This is because your body can get rid of it faster. It doesn't matter if it is topical or oral.
It just doesn't do sh*t on its own. That's the truth. I should know, I've been using it on/off for over almost 30 years.
