Dropping form 1mg ED to 1mg EOD

Hi,

I've been taking finasteride for just under two months. Haven't experienced any serious sides - just watery semen and aching balls every now and then. Sensitivity down there seems to be a bit lower as well.
The main reason i want to lower my dose is to hopefully reduce long term sides.
I was wondering if people think there is much benefit to this - the main thing i worry about is impotence. Would much rather be bald and be able to have kids!
I've heard there's some studies on lower doses, any one have info on this?

since basically the same amount of DHT is inhibited EOD, why do you think it would reduce the chance of sides? There's even the possibility it could increase incidence of sides since hormone levels will be fluctuating more.

only reason to lower the dose from 1mg ED is for financial reasons IMO

I take 1 mg EOD. Not for sides, but well I see it as a good compromise on the money front and DHT hardly changes with a day gap - fact. You might need to lower the dose if you worry for sides not just take the same dose EOD.

lowering the dose won't help with reducing risk of sides. In any case the OP said he hasn't had any serious sides so I would stick to the recommended dose - 1mg daily

NB. if you're in the UK, cost shouldn't be a problem - you can get finasteride 5mg (and then cut it up to take) for dirt cheap with a private prescription.
