yes but it shouldn't make that big of a difference. most of his results are from the rogaine foam/minoxidil because dutas doesn't work that fast. rogaine can work in 2-3 months. dutas never works that fast for the kinda regrowth hes getting. but you need finasteride or dutas to hold the rest of your hair in place man. im serious., look into dutasteride if finasteride is giving you problems. aplunk and others have had sides on finasteride and switched to dutasteride and had no sides. the drugs work differently.

Yeah, I know I will need something to hold the rest of my hair in place. Ive been looking into dutasteride but im not sure if I want to try it or not. Ideally, I want a topical in fins place but I realise that nothing like that will match the effectivness of it.

doesnt dutasteride have more long term sides that no one really knows what it can do to you yet?

I just don't understand how this can be. If the sides are purely the result of the DHT suppression/resulting higher levels of estrogen*, suppressing yet more DHT with dutasteride should surely result in worse sides?

*I read in the detailed drug information that finasteride "has no androgenic, antiandrogenic, estrogenic, antiestrogenic, or progestational effects" of itself. I assume the same is true of dutasteride?

Well dutasteride is a newer drug than finasteride, but it works in a similar way and the adverse reactions observed for both are similar - i.e. impotence, reduced ejaculate volume, breast enlargement. None were experienced by >5% of the guys in the clinical trial, most were at <2% frequency.

The only issue with dutasteride is its long half-life (5 weeks), so presumably if you do experience sides, then they will continue for a longer duration than with finasteride, simply because DHT levels will take longer to recover.

Just ordered some of dr lee's 5% spironolactone lotion. Wondering how im going to use it though lol. I guess along the hairline at first and whenever I notice more thinning in other areas, start to apply it there too. Does that sound about right? Ive heard its a pain in the *** to apply all over your head...

One more question, does anybody here use, spironolactone lotion, revivogen, rogaine foam at the same time? If so, how do you apply all that stuff?
I know you are supposed to put minoxidil on before spironolactone but how does all that work when throwing some revivogen on there too?
Hair is gonna look a right mess with all that crap on it  Should probably shave my head too to make it easier to apply...

You'd think so but they do have different chemical composition that can and do work differently. All I know is that my libido improved dramatically upon dropping finasteride and switching to dutasteride. Now I want to slam my dick into a wall a few times a day just to keep it down.

so don't take it. no one is forcing it down your throat. just know by not being on one or the other, your chances of keeping your hair go down dramatically.

you can go all topical if you want and i do hope you keep your hair but there's plenty of people who have tried that route, lost a lot of ground, and then gotten on the drugs.

I almost wish they were!, If someone was sneaking finasteride or dutasteride into my breakfast Id be alot better off.

I have been using this regime for about 2 weeks now, not bad to deal with at all.

I wash my hair first thing each morning, after drying I put on the Rogaine Foam, and off to work. At lunch time I use Genhair 5% spironolactone, btw, I think this is an improvement on Dr.Lee's, no odor or greasiness. Later in the evening around 7 PM I use my second application of Rogaine Foam. At 10PM or so I use the Revivogen.

I allow a few hours between each application so as to allow for unhindered absorption. So far so good.

Sounds like a pain to me.

I wake up, pop a pill, and it takes about 5 seconds. Then I'm done for the day except showering where I use one of my two shampoos for 2 minutes.

Sounds good, do you use spironolactone and revivogen all over the top of your head or do you just use it on the noticabley thinning areas?

Im already annoyed putting the foam on my head twice a day lol. Maybe this is not the way for me. I might try it for a while and if I cant stick to it, get on dutasteride and smoke a sh1t-load of weed!....i mean stop worrying :ninja:

The spironolactone I use basically front to back in the center, kind of like a mohawk, that is usually my thinning area. The revivogen I really spread out throughout the entire top, front to back. I do not mind this regime, works well for me.
