Had the opportunity to get a blood test done and though I would share this info for future google searches etc. I am taking .5mg daily. Diffuse thinner in nw6-7 pattern nw1.25-1.5 hair line with crown much worse. Age 19.
Testosterone: 392. A test I had 2 years ago before any medications showed my testosterone was 360 at that time. Normal range is like 270-1000
DHT: Less than 5. Normal range was 16-72 I think. DHT assumed to be inhibited by over 90% as it is supposed to be
Side effects: Absolutely nothing in terms of libido or sexual sides. Feel exactly the same. I believe I have had a small increase in occurrence of acne. Slight decrease in beard density, possibly related to the lower DHT levels. Muscle gains in the gym have actually increased since starting Dutasteride, although I don't attribute the gains to dutasteride this shows you can still make gains with the DHT levels of a little girl. Have been on the drug for 6 and a half weeks.
A shed started picking up coincidentally about 2 weeks before starting Dutas. After about a week of starting the drug the shed kicked in to overdrive and have been going through a monster shed since. I apply topicals twice a day and also shampoo almost daily. I massage the topicals in with all 8 fingers. Over 20 hairs is the average on each finger each of these three times I apply stuff to my scalp. Shed is possibly slowing down over last week but still going strong. Shedding both miniaturized as well as what appear to be terminal hairs.
