Maybe I have it wrong, but I think its Xandrox, anyway I just went to Dr. Lee's website for the first time and read about the 15% solution and was wondering why I don't see a lot of people adding it to their regime. I am considering it myself and was just wondering what people had to say about it. Thanks.

Thanks, Gardener. Very interesting read. I'll probably give it a chance as my situation is very rapid (hence the name Rapidfrontal), and I don't have a lot of time to experiment with other solutions and I just started minoxidil yesterday.

Haven't used it myself but its doesn't really dry and looks like having syrup in your hair. That basically rules out morning applications. I would imagine that the shed would be more intense and more likely. As well as side effects from systematic absorption being more likely - these being:

Heart Palpations

Flushing

Skin Irritation

Increased Hair Growth in places you don't want it - i.e. Face, neck, nasal, back, chest etc.

These sides are not that common but can happen.

There you go.

Well, I think I am going to give it a shot as my situation, from the research I've done, seems like I need to throw the kitchen sink at it. Thanks for the information, neil

Keep in mind that Xandrox is primarily Minoxidil, and won't fix your situation any faster than normal 5% minoxidil. I would suggest against an immediate escalation to Xandrox 15 before giving minoxidil 5, or even Xandrox 5, a year. It is just my suggestion, Xandrox 15 is a cosmetically UNdesireable topical treatment when applied, and its f*****g expensive.

Well, I am thinking 15% because people seem to be telling me that, because my follicles seem to minituarize in possibly one cycle, I have a good chance of being a poor responder to many treatments and I am thinking the stronger the better. Isn't that what the dose dependent thing is all about? I am losing my hair so fast I may just have one shot at this topical treatment thing. I am already on Propecia. I am still considering what to do, but I am about to make an appointment with Dr. Lee for a consultation, I'll probably wait to start 15% until I meet with him. Not that I'm hugely rich or anything, but I never take into account the cost of any of this sh*t, in fact I think Dr. Lee is in CA and I am in St. Louis, not exactly convenient, but he seems to know more than my Father who is a Derm. I know what you're going to say: I'm a snake-oil salesman's wet dream.

I don't wanna throw a cat amongst the pigeons but apparently applying 3 times as much Minoxidil 5% is pretty much the same as using 15%

I have seen Bryan discuss this several times in threads.

Try applying minoxidil every 8 hours as regularly as possible, that gives you the a constant hit of minoxidil in perfectly regular intervals.

Well this is pretty interesting, but last night I was on Dr. Lee's website reading about the 15% and I thought there was something in there that said that was not the case. I could very easily be wrong as I am sure you know a lot more about this than I do.

Thats horseshit..... 15% minoxidil is 3x times as potent as regular minoxidil- Why do you think everyone dropped 2% and switched to 5% when it came out?

If you think about the scenario of applying 5% three times its ridiculous. Take a concentrated cleaning solution for instance, you could spray a diluted solution on a stain or spot for ever and not get results but the full strenght version will definately give results. Its the same with topical solutions.

Read this thread before you start calling it horseshit.

Read Bryan's comments - this may only be his opinion and not proven but its got a little more science behind it than your 'cleaning solution' analogy.
