Greco Medical Group utilizes a proprietary method that activates FDA regulated amniotic cells (Restore Amnion), rich in regenerative proteins and growth factors, with a natural extra cellular matrix and a “purified form of PRP” to form a regenerative complex that goes beyond platelet rich plasma formulas.

I'm not sure what to make of this besides big words :/

Pretty much means they're giving you PRP at 5X the cost. By the way, there was a study on PRP in the published studies subforum and it concluded that it isn't very (if at all) effective.

My dermatologist is an alopecia specialist also a researcher..I asked her about PRP..she said that their is not enough conclusive evidence yet but in March the dermatologist conference they are getting a presentation from a study on weather they will start recommending it or not...the way she made it sound was as if the dermatology association was going to come to this conclusion..i could be wrong thought it was a quick side bar.
Anyway i am holding out until March to decide on getting this or not.

The anecdotal evidence seems to be firmly against the efficacy of PRP.

Has anyone read the blog or know of Dr. Greco?

I agree that PRP has a lot to be desired as a hair treatment but to say all PRP treatment is the same is nuts.

I had my PRP done with Cole. Greco is the godfather of PRP. His AF protocol I think is new. as for me ill continue to get PRP once a year.

The problem with PRP for me was that those shots were painful. At least they were for me...
And, to be honest, no temple regrowth, no crown filling in my case.

I had no noticeable results from PRP either. The doctor who performed my procedure stopped offering PRP after a couple years because it simply didn't work.

so you had some good results? Can you quantify at all? I don't need pics to believe you i know some results for stuff are subtle don't show up on camera but in person.

I think the general consensus is that PRP works sightly at best. However with the procedure and costs it doesn't seem like a viable solution, I suppose if you tried dutas+minoxidil and can afford a few thousand then it may be worth the try. But honestly I think if you are going to spend a few thousand over a few years, might as well get a hair transplant.

My hair transplant surgeon i consulted with for a transplant told me i have good donor hair (confirmed this with 2 dermatologists) But he felt that my hair would thicken up enough from PRP that a hair transplant would not be necessary.
I kind of trust he's being truthful because i went in prepared to spend 10-20 grand.
But he also said only sees good results in 2/3 patients

Results where "ok". Definitely an improvement. just like histogen you need 3 PRP injections within months. I know Greco really incourage this. don't expect earth shattering results but if you have the money PRP makes sense.

I created this thread to see if anyone has thoughts on adding Amniotic Fluid cells to PRP.
What is the advantage of AF over Adipose (Fat) Derived Stem Cell and Bone Marrow Aspirate?
  • It does not require liposuction to harvest fat to use as a scaffold or matrix
  • It does not require painful aspirating or Bone marrow from the pelvis
  • Only FDA approved study centers are allowed to use Adipose Stem cells
  • AF is FDA approved
  • It is less expensive
Where do the Amniotic Fluid Cells come from?
Amniotic fluid is a liquid that protects the fetus and provides a supportive environment for fetal growth, is encapsulated within the amniotic membrane. The University of Miami Tissue Bank recovers amniotic fluid with consent from healthy mothers surgically during cesarean section births. All fluids are serologically tested within 30 days of the scheduled surgery to the strictest FDA standards and AATB guidelines. Once serology reports and donor charts are reviewed and released by a medical director or designee, the fluid is then aseptically processed in a controlled environment via a gentle filtration and centrifugation cycle to remove tissue debris.

The DR i consulted with uses Acell in the PRP--he said 2x within 4 months..then not necessary for a year or two or more depending on results..

Do you know anything about Acell? i know someone in Texax on the forums is going to do it this month. He created a thread somewhere.

My thoughts were to use it as a bridge to keep follicles working until a better treatment option down road..not continuously for years and years.

Right now i am actually (knock on wood) having some good early results with topical spironolactone blend and minoxidil..i figured i would see where i am by March (thats when Dermatologist I see said there will be a consensus from Dermatology association they are getting a presentation at their next conference I am assuming it's a more efficient study.)
Also that will give me a good 5-6 months since i started the spironolactone and minoxidil.

Your bridge theory is what I'm counting on. ACELL is used to slow the release of growth factors. I had ACELL wroth PRP before. I had sonic PRP 3 months ago. really hard to tell if something works until you stop. who's your Dr? Best of luck!
