This seriously has driven me to the brink of insanity.. what do you all think? Thinning, balding, suck quality of hair or just don't worry about this and things look alright? Thanks everyone for your time. BTW, 37 and haven't started any treatment at all. Also do you all think maybe I should throw some Rogaine in there for prevention? Thanks again.

Judging solely from these pics, there is no sign of balding. That's just a parting. Pictures of your hairline/ hair when wet might show otherwise.

Before I started balding, I thought I was balding because of the quality of my hair. I didn't actually start losing until I realised my hair was fine. Annoying.

At 37 you obviously have nothing to worry about.

:agree:

37 years of age and no visable thinning from those pictures, life has seen you right. If your obsessed then do as stableforehead said and post some wet shots but you probably dont need to, it honestly looks absolutely fine from those shots and if in the event it did ever start to go a few years down the line then youd be fine as your paying attention to whats going on up there and would be able to intervene early. Chill out and enjoy your hair!

Hair looks fine, but you should really do something about the dandruff.

Try using a shampoo like Nizoral, Sebulex, Neutrogena T-Gel etc.

Didn't see that you're 37. You're hair is better than mine at 14. If you haven't lost any hair by now, then you've pretty much escaped the possibility of male pattern baldness. Congratulations.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment. Yeah the dandruff has been a problem in the last couple of months so thank you for the suggestions. Yeah I'm old at 37 but I agree monty, definitely not out of the wood so to speak...I'll definitely keep any eye on it. Monty, would you say at this point that I should put some Rogaine up there or would that just mess things up? Also, this maybe my OCDness but does the possible thinning look bad? Thanks again everyone, greatly appreciated & good luck to everyone!

Looks fine from the pics.

If you're ultra-concerned and paranoid, I would just keep an eye on it every three to six months (take new pics), and if you notice it seems a little worse, I would just start on Propecia\Finasteride and see if that does it for you.

I disagree. Lot's of guys start going bald in late 30s even 40s and end up bald.

He does have a little bit of thinning and a lighter shade to his hair around the vertex. I'm not saying he is but I wouldn't rule it out of equation either.

I dont think so, I bet if you asked 100 really bald guys ie NW6/7 aged 50+ what age they started losing it they'd all say teens or 20's.
I dont know of any examples where a guy has had hair up till middle age then went bald.

This guiy has nothing to worry about unless he wants to keep a totally full head of hair until he dies and for a caucasian man that would put him above 95% of the population.

Brendan Fraiser was wearing a wig in his 20's that pic you posted was taken at least 10 yrs ago I remember seeing it when I first got an internet connection.

Dont know who the first guy is.

Mel Gibson is not Nw4+ if he'd had hair transplant's earlier in his career surely he'd have had the hairline done.

Its very rare for a guy to get to nearly 40 with no loss then go bald. I dont think there are even any examples amongst the 1000's of posters on this site.
All the real bald guys on here like UCman, Seb, HPM, myself Dudemon all without exception had aggressive hairloss before our mid 20's.

I seriously don't know much but definitely age plays a part and possibly your hair quality may go downhill as you age. I'm definitely going to watch, my dad has a full head of hair at 67 but still going to stay alert on it. Not to sound stupid but is the vertex the top of the head? Thanks again.

It's perfectly possible to start losing hair from an older age, it's just that there's a much lower chance, and if it did happen, it would never be aggressive. I'm sure my dad's started thinning in his 40s,; he's always gone on about how great his hair is for his age (due to a compliment from a bald hair dresser) but recently, I've noticed that his hair is thinner and more transparent on top except for his forelock which is still thick. Still a great head of hair for 48. Most celebs that you see only seeming bald when they get older have probably kept it concealed in their youth.

With your hair the way i is at 37 (which I wouldn't say is old, just beyond the normal balding age), you are most likely not going bald. Meds shouldn't be used as preventative measures as you're just causing potentially unnecessary burden to yourself. A dermatologist could tell you if you were balding and THEN you could start finasteride/ minoxidil.
