Don't know what regime to start

I'll start off by saying I don't really need much regrowth (not right now anyway) so I was thinkin of waiting on rogaine and just want to see if I can get the 2 little corners back around my hairline where the vellus hairs are. I was talking to my doctor about starting finasteride, but I don't know if that's going to get me where I want to be even though I'm not far from what I want, because propecia doesn't grow much

I was thinking about minoxidil but I wanted to only use that when my hair was really ****ed and finasteride stopped working for me. Can I just do half of each regimen? Can I take finasteride MWF and use rogaine every other day or something. Just to get small effects from both instead of just going all out on one treatment?

Unsure about minoxidil every other day, but I've read a few others doing MWF of finasteride.

I'm in a similar position. I really just want to thicken up some miniaturized portions of my hairline. So I'm not really looking for a hardcore regimen yet.

I've been alternating Nizoral/Piroctone Olamine shampoo for about 4 months now. I added finasteride .25 mg EOD 2 months ago.

Going well thus far. A lot of my severely miniaturized/vellus hairs are growing. They're not much if any thicker but at least they're getting longer now which has to be a good sign.

Extremely mild sides with .25 mg finasteride EOD. Slight decrease in sex drive and that's about it.

Like you I want to save minoxidil for a last resort. Don't think I'd be committed to rubbing that **** on my head every day unless my hair took a noticeable turn for the worse.

yeah man already on nizoral also. what's that other shampoo you got? I'm thinking of adding small amounts of propecia and maybe upping it and adding dutasteride once I think that has stopped working, and yes like you I'm also saving minoxidil for when it goes really downhill. Probably another 5 years if I'm lucky 10 if I'm really really lucky. I was born with kind of a weird Norwood hairline so my hairline looks a lot worse with minor just recession.
