Does This Look Like Aa Or Something Else?

I've developed this random bald spot on the back of my head. My hairdresser thought it was alopecia, given the look of it and the fact of how quickly it occurred (I usually get my haircut around every 4 weeks or so and it happened between haircuts). Is there anything else besides AA that could cause a bald spot like this? As someone who seems to be also experiencing male pattern baldness, is there any hope for my hair?

Does the area hurt or is it tender? Ringworm?
