Does this cause hairloss?

I'm a diffuse thiiner- My hair naturally grows forward- Does spiking the hair up against its natural growth cause hairloss or make it worse? I've been styling my hair like this for a while, so i really don't want to change it.

The only thing that has been proven to cause male pattern baldness is excess DHT in the scalp.

Not diet or beating off or whatever else unless it is a medical problem.
