Does Thinning On The Sides Just Above The Ear Indicate A Higher Norwood As Final Pattern?

Clue is in the title. I see a lot of guys who are Norwood 3, heading to Norwood 4 but their hair that is just above the ear on the sides isn't thinning.

Mine is receding back towards my ears though and I'm fairly certain that is Norwood 5/6/7 territory right?

Like this. Top right of the photo, there used to be like a small triangular point of hair (everyone has them I think) but it's receded and gone.

Hi Norman,
I have similar hair to yours, and I'm also losing that small triangular point you mention. I've noticed it more recently, and it's been bothering me. However, I could be wrong, but I don't think it's an indication of where you'll ultimately end up. I think the hairline overall tends to move back as we age. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic because of my own situation, but I really don't think we can tell where we will end up because from what I've read male pattern baldness progresses differently in different people. I'd be interested to hear other opinions on your question though.

Good Luck and hang in there!

I never realised how important that triangular bit is until it's pretty much gone.. Now I have a straight line, it's very odd but something I imagine only myself and other balding people will notice for now.

Maybe you're being overly optimistic, Maybe you aren't but being optimistic pretty much gets me through my day haha.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that triangular bit go but only on people with higher Norwoods, I could be wrong though..
