Does The Quality Of The Same Type Of Lace Vary?

I've been shopping for a full lace wig. From YouTube videos, I'm surprised by how natural the hairline can look with a bit of tweaking and trimming. However, I think the lace is very obvious from the videos, compared to bonded hair system where the lace disappears on your scalp. I wonder if the quality of the same lace, say Swiss lace, varies?
I'm looking at Northwest Lace's products and wonder if their full lace wigs will have to same issues.
Or is "undetectable" simply unachievable with a full lace wig?

Thanks!

I don't know but I would try that Alopecia Areata Facebook page if you don't get feedback here because the most I learnt from womans wigs was on that page. And I learnt a lot at the time I just did not retain much.

I know @shookwun knows about hair pieces he might be able to advice good vs bad.
If he does not see this I would try to PM him.

I will comment back on this in a couple days once I am off work and have acess to my computer.

I know of a compilation of full lace videos that have insight, experience and tutorials on a Womens full lace.

Appreciate it shookwun.

The tutorials I've watched are pretty much all done by black women. I think they usually order coloured lace and the lace looks very coarse.

This is a very good example of a good hairline but if you just zone in just a bit, you can clearly see the lace. I wonder if it's just quality issue?

yes I see it.
In person that would be totally noticeable

For a human hair lace front it is cheap (imo)

What i was doing was finding wigs I liked then searching on Youtube to see if anyone reviewed that specific wig..i am going to just grab a random one to show what i mean..I was looking at Jon Renau a lot there was another company but cant remember name..it was crazy they were like $2000.

A lot of women will also give suggestions on side bangs or hair cuts..A lot of people do style them further after buying them.

I wish i remember which styles and brands I had liked but that time was like a mental-blur.

(not recommending this one just pulling random)

This girl knew a lot about the different types and how to style etc
I remember her.

Here is a link to her page she has a lot of videos how to 'hide' the lace fronts with makeup and how to 'cut' the hair. Some of it is 'cheesy' but some of her wigs look natural to me (some fake)..but she knows a lot from trial and error.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfv7K8BQgUWviJmwRpCficg

here she addresses masking/dealing with the lace front that is obvious she uses topik even in the lace wig. (its a $40 cheap wig she has on though so I would be cautious if expensive wig)

Came across this never saw this befroe--not sure what to make of it but just sharing as never saw it before.

I've looked at Jon Renau and watched some review videos but to be honest I can tell they are not the most realist out there. And I hate the shiny look. Most branded wigs like Jon Renau, Folla, Milan, etc I've seen look kinda shiny to me. It looks like Folla has great quality hair but the hairline always looks kinda disappointing. I don't know why it's such a popular choice. And it's expensive as.

I think I'm going to order a custom wig from Northwest Lace which would be around $USD 450.

Btw I've seen Zara on other women the results vary so much it makes me wonder if they are actually the same wig lol

I don't know why they would hide the parting with makeup? I mean, it would still be obvious with makeup on ..

Normalness is just so important nowadays . Like there was this one time when a friend of mine literally kept checking out my broken toe nail without saying anything.. I guess he feels like he's a guy and shouldnt ask da fuk is wrong with my toe nail..

I know that 'goldie locks' on youtube talks about things to do to a wig after you have it to make it look more natural--cutting and styling.

The lace front I think if you are getting it custom they will figure that out for you though--definitely speak to Shookwun before doing it though because he does know a lot about it. I have seen him talk about it many times on here.

I do notice with the wigs--the dark blondes (not light blonde) look so much better than the brunette..I'm dark hair so I felt frustrated by that when I was looking at them. I don't know why. I just felt like the real dark ones look wigglier than some of the lighter ones.

Wigs are hard, take your time finding what you feel is best.

Thanks, hairblues

Im actually very excited although I'm not sure how it will work out. I'll be very happy with the black wig I posted tho if the lace would just be a little bit less obvious.

Will definitely post pics when I get it. :)

I think office environment is the only place where I'm not sure how wig wearing will work out. If I was back in university, I'd just wig it out with no issue.

The first wig I've looked at is this, you might recognise her.

Not sure why she would go for 0-lace. The hair looks gorge but the edge is so wiggy and obvious.

I actually think it's easier for dark haired women. Lighter coloured hair will easily look coarse if you don't look after it. I have black hair. I myself only get my hair cut once a year and toward the end of the year, the ends of my hair would be coarse and split if you looked very very closely. But people would still think my hair look gorgeous. It took me almost 0 maintenance.
When blonde hair goes dry, it almost always looks terrible. Just my opinion.

I don't know who she is...but I agree with you it was pretty wig--she did pull out some of her natural hair to blend, maybe that is why?

there is a famous show here Housewives of Atlanta and there is a blonde woman famous for wearing wigs..I noticed with her wigs she uses some of her own bio hair somehow around hair line with wig and I personally don't notice the lace.. I guess this is a fancy topper?

I mean she sports Texas pageant hair lol I am just posting for hair line not 'taste' preference these two pics are not bad but she usually sports a ton of hair. To me it does not look like a wig on hair line. But she is famous for wearing wigs.
She is only white/non black, youngish (30 something) celebrity I know of who is very honest about wearing wigs all the time. Kim Zolciak is her name if you want to google her. Some is like 'show pony' hair lol. But around her face always looks natural.

Maybe the wig is a few inches back like a topper?

TBH I'm startled by how obvious that lace looks .. if you look at HairDirect or Northwest Lace for tips, you will see most pieces on there are truly undetectable.

Pulling out hair is really not a tip tho .. especially for people like us.

"How to make a wig look natural? Use your own hair!"

Sorry, just very against this method. I wish I could use my own hairline. :/

No worries I totally understand--it is frustrating

The northwest looks good I did not see hair direct yet.

I hope Shook comes back on soon because he really knows his sh*t with these.
