Yes and no... :)

Well I hoped to include the implication of stress and sleep loss occurring in isolation when I said stress is more likely to have an effect on hair. I didn't want to deny that there are relations between them. I think the with the ways stress and sleep occur and support one another are fairly apparent.

bad sleep and lack of sleep inhibits your body from repairing itself properly. It also exacerbates many medical conditions from the added stress.

I should know im a damn sleep tech.

M.p.b is not damage or a medical condition it is a totally natural condition.

arg. Ok Ive said it like 100 times for the all the diet threads. I know tons of people that run up Ginormous sleep deficits and they have every hair on there head. Well all those living counter examples pretty much shoots down that theory because how can there body repair and maintiain all there hair if they sleep for 4 hours a night for 5 years? Go ahead and explain that to me. Come up with something better then well maybe there body doesnt need sleep or something stupid. Man just walk outside and look at people we have tons of real life examples of most or all of these variables.

some people are fine off a 4-5 hours of sleep. I myself only need about 6 and im good. You need less sleep as you get older. People make up for lost sleep also by their daytime somulence and naps. Sure they get 4 hours at night but they probably get another 1-2 hours in the day. The military specificaly trains for 4 hour sleep cycles.

Sleep is important to your body. It effects your mental state and body's ability to function. Otherwise we wouldn't get tired.

Nobody here said its a cure to hairloss or anything of that sort.

No. You're losing your hair because you're losing your hair. It's not sleep, stress, shampoo, diet, or any other straw at which one's tempted to grasp.

It's genetics, pure and simple.

Not exactly...

It has been proved that working out in gym (weight lifting) increases serum testosterone, increasing your chances of losing more hair than if you didn't work out. In the other corner, it has been proved that doing cardio frequently, decreases serum testosterone.

It's not about black or white. That was the thinking of last decade.

Nowadays, we know there are a lot of factors that contribute to hairloss. Genetics is just one of them. And the main and primary reason. Stress, bad food, etc are secondary.
