Does Propecia Work Better When You're Younger?

I know that a myriad amount of questions that are similar to this are asked on a concurrent, daily basis. But I'm really keen on knowing the truth about hairloss medications, and for a 17 year old that is going through male pattern baldness; I can say that it's irritating going through this, especially knowing that my peers have more hair than me.

2nd question:

Does Propecia work for a very long time, if the medication actually works. I did jump from a norwood 2, to 1.5. But for how long will I maintain my hair? I never really got a vivid answer related to this question. It's kinda hard to grasp..

I use Minoxidil, Nizoral, Finasteride, and Biotin.

It works better if you start early, that's pretty much it. So you can stop early it if it doesn't work for you after giving it some time

@joeblack2017 yjoughts on how long to test if it’s workkmg or not? I read that people use itch as a factor. But I have no itch just a ton of diffuse shedding.

From my experience Propecia didn't work at all for me and I started at 19 with some mild temple recession. I don't think it matters what age.. The sooner you start treating it the better the chance you have of getting results, but even that's sometimes not enough for a few people. I'm glad to hear you are having success! A bold move to be using finasteride at 17 but I would have been on it at your age too had I known about it back then lol. Do you have any baseline and current pictures you can share with us?

The 10-year follow up study showed that if you experience no change or improvement in the 1st year, there is 95%+ chance that your hair will not get worse in the following 10 years. But the study does not support the opinion that the younger you are, the better it works for you.
