Does minoxidil work on the beard / stubble area?
I'm a 40-Year-Old Male. Losing stubble density. General thinning on top. Dermatologist says it's not alopecia barbae. I have lots of little spaces where hairs should be, but no coin-sized holes, and apparently there's no inflammation.
When I recently visited a trichologist, he used the microscope to show a close-up view of my stubble, and it showed that lots of shafts were different thicknesses and colours (black, white), and there were lots of the circular bits at the bottom of the hair shaft (can't remember the actual name) with no hair, but he said the hair could still grow from these, as they were in the resting phase.
The weirdest thing is the different thicknesses of hairs, as this contributes to a patchy, uneven look. What's the best way to combat this? The overall appearance would be a lot better if all the hairs were the same thickness.
