Does Miniaturized Hairs Always Mean male pattern baldness?

So I tried to convince myself my thinning was simply temporary and due to the stress from a breakup. However it's apparent it's only affecting the top of my head. I have the same hairline as when I was a kid and no recession, it's purely diffuse thinning. It's an odd way to lose hair, the thinnest part is in the middle of my hairline. When I do a pull test some of the hairs are very wispy and thin. Does this guarantee 100% that this is male pattern baldness?

Yeah sounds like male pattern baldness. It shouldn't be tough for you to thicken up. Diffuse thinners almost always see results, unless it's super fast diffuse thinning, you know the kind where a person goes from a full head of hair to Norwood 6 in less than a year. For the most part, you will be fine being on the big three. Within 6 months you will see hair thickening up. Just don't waste your time trying to convince yourself it's stress or anything like that, or you might have no hair left to thicken up, and by then it will be too late for treatment.

Not always I don't think so. You can see those hairs in men AND women that have a buzz cut and good hair. Some have those tiny, thinner hair along the corners.

Id go with this. If you have smaller thin hairs on your head than its male pattern baldness if they did not grow back so you would see visible thinning. The other person is right though too its possible to have a few tiny hairs at the very temples like a womens hairline, but if you have visible thinning anywhere I wouldnt kid yourself its like 95 percent change you have male pattern baldness if your a male. If your a gambler your stupid to bet against these odds

I have observed a lot of man with good hair. hair at their hairline is same as other hairs on their head (you know, those man with fine hair you carry their hair pushed backward exposing their hairlines) If the hairs are miniaturizing anywhere on the head and eventually if they vanish instead of growing back then pretty much it is male pattern baldness.

I also thought the thinning was due to a stressful time I had in my life during the end of 2017, but went to a dermatologist who confirmed it was the beginnings of androgenic alopecia (I'm 26 btw). So far only the front of my hair is starting to thin out, but they said I should be able to maintain for a long time on purely finasteride. Both derms said told me to try minoxidil first which I didn't really want to (too much effort for me LOL). Still trying to mentally prepare myself for the lifelong commitment but the sides and stories honestly get to me sometimes :/ even tho I try to read remember the positive ones more.

Depends on where the miniaturized hairs are.

If you have a few "baby" or vellous hairs along your hairline, that's normal. Women have those too. If you see miniaturizing hairs elsewhere though, that's pretty much the definition of balding.

in 90% of cases its the beginning of inherited androgenic hairloss

and in 90% of cases men want to believe its stress related whatsoever...
