For the last few years i go to the gym and lift weights three times a week

as lifting weights affects your testosterone levels i wondered if it can speed up hair loss?

also what about sex/masturbation?

thanks

I think it's complicated. Anything like steroids which lift testosterone will probably speed up hair loss. Normal physical activity shouldn't (and indeed, should actually help to balance hormones, lower inflammation, etc)... I am unsure about weightlifting specifically but I can't see why it would be any different.

I believe that sex/masturbation increases prolactin which increases inflammation. Really excessive sexual activity maaayyyyy affect sex hormone balance, I don't know.

That is the extent of my knowledge on this topic! :)

Using finasteride, my hair seems to be starting to grow back and loss has seemingly stopped.

I also work out lifting heavy weights.

It is DHT and sensitivity that affects hair.

I think the problem is a lot of people start to work out when they're 20-25 and then they also notice the beginning stages of hairloss at the same time. It's not correlated, it's just coincidence.

I am sure I would have started to lose hair regardless of working out (in fact, I did lose some before, I just didn't realize it)

Does it increase hair loss- only if you keep scrapping the the top of your scalp doing french presses! LOL! Sorry, had to say it.

Exactly and its the same with the guys on finasteride in their 30's who say its harder to get it up these days.
