Does Ketaconazole Really Work For Hairloss?

To many variables behind simple sheddings of 10-20 hairs.

Get a tricho test done, that's the only efficient way to get to the root cause.

As I stated earlier, Nizoral merely provides a healthier foundation for medication to work on. It will not inhibit DHT.

actually i am suffering from seb derm ..i have been through massive shedding and been shaving my head for years every 3 months. now i want to keep my hair for some time more thats why i was worried cause of those 10-20 hairs ..if thats normal then i can grow without any tension.

I ve used nizoral alone for about 4 months. I did get a few strands of hair to grow back as terminal hair, but over all I have a bit more miniaturized hairs than before. What it has done though is make the area where my temples have receded grow a uniform batch of thin short hairs, but none of them seem to grow any longer or thicker.

So I d confirm what others have said, it doesn't seem to stop male pattern baldness progression, it might just slow it a bit and make miniaturized hairs grow slightly longer, but that's it. Still better than nothing.

Neither ketoconazole or zinc pyrithione is going to stop you losing your hair. As has been mentioned, topical ketoconazole is extremely weak as a male pattern baldness/Androgenetic Alopecia treatment. It might perhaps help a little, but you'll be fighting a losing battle. Zinc pyrithione is completely useless as a male pattern baldness treatment. You need to get on a 5-AR inhibitor (Finasteride or Dutasteride) if you want to give yourself a realistic chance of winning the long-term battle against male pattern baldness. Without using a 5-AR inhibitor, your chances of successfully defeating this disease are very slim.

Thats all I'm using right now (keto shampoo Regenepure). THe problem is that I can't tell if the hairs on my hairline are terminal hair or miniaturization into vellus hairs ? It makes me wonder cause the hairs aren't light and small, they are only a little shorter than the 'normal' hair on my hairline and dark blonde like my hair. But it would seem extremely unlikely that keto would ever regrow hair so idk. I know the actual quality of my scalp and hair have improved since starting it and dropping SLS products, I used to flake like crazy on dark t-shirts.

Has anyone tried a Keto cream or gel topically? Something that doesn't just get washed off after a few minutes might be more effective.

I've tried looking around online but I can't find anything that contains Keto, besides shampoo, in the US.

Yeah I tried 2% Nizoral cream, it made some pretty sharp headaches, keto either in shampoo or cream is total garbage.

Really? I thought there was some pretty reputable research on its anti-androgen effects? It's still a very effective anti-fungal and has helped my dandruff more than anything else I've tried.

I feel like of all the shampoos I've used, the few with Keto have been the most effective. I'm using DS labs Revita shampoo w/ 1% Keto right now and it seems to be the most effective shampoo I've used for reducing hair-fall and dandruff, but it does have other ingredients like caffeine, Procyanidin B-2, etc. that are supposed to help as well. It's the only shampoo I've used where I could actually see more than peach fuzz regrowth happen, all the way to my original hairline actually (of course, it dosen't go beyond that, and I dont expect it to).

Where did you get your Nizoral cream from though? The only place I could find to buy it online ships from Thailand, and I'm a little suspect about getting anything from outside the US or Canada.
