Does it make sense to say Nizoral is my regrowth treatment?

Hi,

I'm thinking of adding minoxidil 5% reduced PPG formula from Dr. Lee soon, but I am not sure yet as if the Nizoral in my regimen is effective as a regrowth product, I may not need to bother with Lee. Plus I'm not fully into my 1st year on Propecia yet.

finasteride has definately thickened up and slowed down hairloss, that much I'm sure of. I am not a picture taker, but I think I'm a good responder even though I'm still battling it with the random sensitive & itch spots (mostly thinking Folligen's PPG is causing it.)

Considering that Nizoral has been shown to be "as effective as minoxidil 2%", is it sensible to say that within my regimen, Nizoral is the only proven 'growth stimulant' ?

Also, will the hairs that grow back from Nizoral use, become dependant on the Nizoral as they would with using minoxidil?

Thanks,
-Mike

Try Australian golden emu oil to calm down the irritation. I get red marks from Minoxidil, and I use retin A cream with emu oil afterwards, and the redness goes. I'm doing alot more besides, but need to write a book about my successful combo.

I don't think Nizoral is a true regrowth agent. When they say as effective as 2% minoxidil that is the effect on hair shaft diameter etc but propecia also is as effective if not more so than 2% minoxidil and propecia also isnt a growth agent but a 5AR inhibitor.

Nizoral also is a 5AR inhibitor and an anti-inflammatory.

Nizoral is more of an anti-androgen than a growth stimulant, but either way u should still use it cuz its the sh*t

Well I intend to continue to use it..

I just want to get it straight. If it's an anti-androgen, and similiar effects to minoxidil 2%.. then it also must be considered a growth stimulator... am I wrong?

after a month and a hald on finasteride and nizoral, I feel confident in what it does. I am pretty sure it is the nizoral that is making my hair follicles look darker and thicker, because that's a fact that one of these two treatments has done taht for me in the short time Ive taken it. My hair just looks alot healthier and after nizoral, my hair is soft and looks really shiny and nice.

I wonder if it's from the effect of leaving the nizoral in the hair for 5 minutes and rinsing just giving a false cosmetic effect or if it actually did make the follicles stronger. I have never had an itch on the scalp, no side effects after a month and I see no reason to just give up on it, gonna be in it for the long haul, its not like its a hassle in the first place.
