Does hair loss due to non-genetic causes always recover?

I feel like, on the top of male pattern baldness, my hair loss has been worsened by overuse of different shampoos, corticosteroids and oral antifungals.

My hair on the back and sides, where they are supposed to be permanent have thinned also.

So, is it a possibility that I have permanently lost hair due to extensive usage of different drugs or shampoos?

No it doesn't matter did you loose hair due to male pattern baldness or tologen effluvium. The only thing it matters is for how long of time your hair is lost in certain part of scalp. Because as time passes on, the fibrosis process occurs in epidermis of skin and causes damage to dermal papila.

And if DP is lost/damaged you can't return it to life with antiandrogen or any other conventional therapy - this is why finasteride and dutasteride regrow hair only in beginning of hair loss process.

It is usually said that finasteride and dutasteride can regrowth hair which is lost within couple of years in past. And even that is pretty nise result since some users get 0 regrowth.

Man I knew a kid who huffed gas, abused OTC drugs, and smokes cigarettes like a chimney and he doesn't have any hairloss. I don't think environment factors can cause balding.
