Don't think so.

Everyone who I know that drinks a lot has great hair. So I don't think it affects it either way.

I don't think there is a study carried out to test whether drinking causes hairloss or not. However, if you drink hard enough to damage your liver, things might start turning sour for you.

Alcohol consumption and smoking are some of those things that are impossible to test in a lab environment. You can't ask a group of test subjects to intentionally subject themselves to liver damaging amounts of alcohol. So, any study published in the field would be based on questionnaire answers rather than a full scientific test.

I think excessive drinking that causes stress to the liver will probably have negative effect on the scalp and a few other organs.

I used to have some big nights out, and my hair has got worse after I quit drinking :dunno:. Maybe I should start drinking again to thin my blood so that it can find its way into my follicles again :innocent: ?

Ahh but would'nt that just transport the DHT in your bloodstream staright to your follicles? :dunno:

BTW alcohol consumption decreases the production of testosterone and increases the production of eastrogen so maybe there is something in it?

Well... Beer does contain vitamin B which is supposed to be good for nails and hair. Don't know if it's directly connected to hairloss, though. I suppose someone here can help you with that.
