Does being out of shape affect hairloss?

It might just be a coincidence, but among me and my brothers, my older obese brother has been hit pretty hard with male pattern baldness and general thinning on the top of his head, but my younger twin has no hair loss at all at 27 and he's in very good shape. I m the older twin at 27 as well, but while I m normal weight I don't work out and I could be in better shape and right now I m at about a NW2.

Is it just a coincidence that our fitness level correlates with our hairloss pattern? or does fitness affect hairloss?

Even if there was a statistical correlation between male pattern baldness and being fat: correlation doesn't imply causation.

Personally when I was overweight my hair was actually in better shape! My hairline seemed to fill in more and the hairline itself was denser.
