I have read an article of dr Rassman well known hair transplant doctor....and he says that in over 10 years of propecia availability on the us market all his patient who have taken the pill constantly never go bald...or at least they have maintained...it sounds good to hear this from an experimented man like him...

Well, currently there are at least half a dozen or more guys on this site who are any where's from 10 to 16 months on the stuff and not having much luck at all. Maybe we should all get together and have a group appointment with the Doctor. :thumbdown2:

what do you mean? just because you haven't seen any regrowth? or you just going to lose it over and over again? because i have noticed that some of you are not loosing hair anymore but they still saying that propecia is doing nothing...he is one of the best Doctor...in hair implants and i don't think that he said that for a reason...why don't u start dudasteride if propecia doesn't work?

and i have noticed also that most of you...are using generic stuff ordered from internet...is not so reliable...i think is worth trying propecia from merck;)

I think it works for everyone at least a litte, but my hair is still getting worse on it after 14 months, and im using merck propecia. Dr Ras condradictes himself a ton, if u look at the site youll find post that state the opposite

Fincar from Cipla (Indian company) is legit, but I agree, I would never order important drugs like finasteride online. I think proscar from local pharmacy is the most cost effective/legit way of doing things.

Proscar for me 1/4 daily (brand name finasteride = propecia). Not cheap knock offs. 12 months and my hair is certainly worse from baseline. Before starting I had just a small thinning spot just behind the hairline and a rather small area in the crown region. Now I'm probably 30% thinner throughout the top. And I've not touched minoxidil.

I've always questioned his website. He seems VERY pro propecia. So much that one might think he's in bed with Merk. Most doctors I know shy away from pushing any drug that hard given the sides it's know to give. It's one thing to believe in a drug, but to have your own website supporting it just seems strange to me.

And, I haven't given up just yet. I'm hoping year 2 will be the year when the finasteride will start giving back some of what was lost from starting it.

some guys live with the drug for over 10 years...so is working...you may have even an hair implant...relying on this drug...i've read some examples...that peoples with receding hairlines or front loss...have made implants because the rest of the crown was better with finasteride...

Whatever it is your trying to explain, I don't quit get. :dunno:

Alls I can say is you say the Doctor says it has worked for everyone he has given it to and I'm simply saying all it has done for several here is make things worse. Lets just leave it at that.

Maybe his idea of people not going bald is still having some peach fuzz or a few strands for a comb over. :woot: I call balding continuously getting worse.

I routinely prescribe finasteride for all balding men, so progression is not evident as the process slows down considerably. In the days when Propecia was not available, the balding process was very evident in a matter of a few years, but now when Propecia is used, I just have not seen the radical changes in balding patterns...he also said that...maybe...you are not lucky at all...or maybe you should wait for 2 years...

and I don't think he is so pro propecia or it has an agreement with merck...because every hair transplant doctor recommends this...because looks like if you stick with this for lifetime...or a good period of time...you can have more chances to remain with your hair...or to have a more successful hair transplant...

the fact that finasteride only inhibits one type of DHT alone shows why finasteride isn't going to work for everyone.

So many variables.
