Doctor,

Right now taking a comprehensive multivitiamin, a distilled (mercury-free) Omega 3 supplement, plus AHA, ALA, GLA, CoQ10, L-Glutamine, and L-Acetyl Carnitine.

I also take a valerian blend at night to help me sleep deeper.... and frankly this is one supplement that I actually FEEL works well.

How much of this stuff is trash, and how much do you think is good stuff to take?

I assume you are getting GLA from borageseed oil. Also, get your ALA from flax seeds, and grind them in a coffee grinder. You don't really need a lot of L-glutamine unless you eat a lot of whey protein, which has little glutamine. I have 200g of acetyl L carnitine. Cheap. Like maybe $10. I just take it whenever. Not too often. It is for maintainance.

I do not know what valerian is, though if you feel really rested in the morning, that is FAR more important that how fast you fall asleep at night. I would say try melatonin instead, but you don't want your penal gland thinking it does not need to make any itself. Better for it to make its own, and then take melatonin if you are having trouble sleeping one night.

The valerian doesn't seem to "make me sleepy" before I go to bed, but it does make me sleep more deeply.

If you're taking all that you might as well add Creatine Monohydrate.
