Do you think in most males going bald is a huge change of appearance?

As if you were good looking with hair, most males would look awful bald? Or it's pretty much good looking w/ hair = good looking bald for the most part? etc?

I looked at the slybaldguys forum and 95% of the males there looked bad physically, but I don't think they'd look good with hair either so it's tough. I'm at a NW4 and I can still hide my hairline and thinning hair with buzz cuts but I feel like it's just embarrassing to do so for my own sake even if it might not be noticeable to to other people. It's like one day it's not noticeable, then another day the hair grows out enough to the point where it is.

I wanna go with the bald look but I don't know if I'll go from a pretty good looking guy to an awkward guy. I grow a full beard which would most likely help make a huge difference, but I can't see it not making me look completely different even if I normally keep a buzz cut anyway, more or less.


What is your stance on bald males? Do you think most fail at pulling it off?

I don't think you can actually look better slick bald, you'll always look better NW1 because that's your natural hairline and it should be like that :Z
You'll definitely look worse if you are already ugly, but I do believe people rocking the whole Nw5 or even NW4 look probably equally as terrible. Head shape is a big thing and you don't want to be pale

I remember watching breaking bad hah, thinking man walter looks so cool with the whole recently shaven look but the moment he went back to a full head of hair (I think he was nw2A maybe?) he looked worlds better....
Honestly slick bald is the worst, but shaven is pretty decent.

Maybe a little shorter than that, that's why I'm all for SMP, slick bald looks terrible.

I think slick bald looks bad on guys who don't have beards as well..but I think if someone grows a good beard, it kinda shapes their face substituting for the head hair. The slick bald and no beard combination looks awful on 95% of people though, I agree. Thoughts?

Honestly mate I was just looking at the whole slybaldguys forum, honestly I thought all those guys looked terrible...
What's funnier most of them were rocking beards, urghh I don't know what to say mate. No beard or beard, being cue ball doesn't look good.
I think if I was them I would keep the side bits shaven down but not completely gone and then join it with a beard. I think that would look alright.

Yeah but the guys on slybaldguys, I don't think they'd look good with a full head of hair either. They go from 4/10's to 2/10's bald..so I don't think those are a good example. Just IMO.

I wouldn't suggest a full grown beard for a slick bald head, I think a slick bald or closely buzzed balding head along with a five o' clock shadow can be a more effective trick or subtler cover up. At least in my mind it seems to create a better balance. Subtle hair/hairline + 5 o" clock shadow/neatly close trimmed beard= complimentary masculine appearance. Subtle hair/ slick bald head + fully mature/overgrown beard = extreme and suspicious simian appearance.

Even if they looked better w/ a buzz cut than longer hair in the first place? That's definitely my case.

I always looked great w/ a buzz cut, nothing more than a #4 on top and looked terrible with anything longer. A lot of black people look as good bald as with hair, I don't think it's the case with white guys for the most part though.
