First, let me say that I have very bad hair loss, I'm heading towards an NW3. Began about 2 years ago, no males under 40 in my family have hair loss or thinning, apart from some cousins my age.

Here's what I'm talking about https://imgur.com/a/w1XMd. Tried Minoxidil but got extreme dandruff.

I'm gonna see a dermatologist very soon and she's deciding if she's gonna give me a prescription. What do you think, should I take finasteride?

I wouldn't at your age. Since you have dandruff, have you looked into Nizoral? It is one of the big 3 and its intended use is as an anti-dandruff shampoo:)

totally depends on ur stage in puberty, at that age I still had 5 inches to grow. If you feel like you have finished growing for the most part id say go for it. People always say wait until 18 but you dont just magically grow up by the time ur 18, even at that age I had a couple inches left to grow.

I'm not sure you have alopecia at all.
You high?

I also started balding at 17. And I'll tell you this. I absolutely regret not starting Finasteride at that time. Instead, I waited until I was 19.
You really have to determine if you're finished developing though.

This is a decision you have to make with a doctor. There's a reason it states that propecia is not intended for people under 18. Dht is still masculinizing your body
