Hello. Please, read, and give me your opinions. I'm gonna tell you my story with this from the start to you to get what happaned.
Before, I wanna apologize for any english mistakes. I'm from Brazil and I don't speak english originally.
At the beggining of last year, I got paranoid about my hair after seeing a picture of mine, at the crown zone. I started to think it was male pattern baldness, but it was just my hair swirl, which everybody have, but I never saw mine before, so when I first seen it, I thought I was balding.
In June last year, I went to a terrible bad dermatologist, who didn't even looked at my hair properly, and said I had MPD.
That time I didn't have the knowledge I have about MPD today, then I believed what she said.
She told me to use Minoxidil, and I did it.
After something like 1 month using it, I started to give attention to my hairline. I was completely paranoid about my hair, that I could see problems where there was none (as a lot of people do), so I realized that the left side of my hairline was a little bit asymmetrical to the right side.
It was a little higher than the right side, BUT, there wasn't any sign of thinning, or bald spots. They were thick hair, with no rarefaction.
So, as I was paranoid, I started using Minoxidil there, on the left side of my hairline. I used it for 6 months, from June to Decemper 13th. Today it's been 3 months since I stoped.
In this time, there was no difference on my crown (because there was nothing to change), but I had changes on my hairline, it got worst.
I was so paranoid, thar I started using minoxidil on the areas close to my ear (sorry I don't know how it's called in english), on the on the left side of my head, an area which is imune to DHT.
Results I got from it, I got baldspots all over the left side of my hair, inclunding the area close to the ear, which got 'more bald'. And this is important: I never ever used minoxidil on the right side of my hair, and so far, it's intact. No sign of thinning or hair loss. It's just as it's always been.
But the left side, now it's rarefied, and with bald spots on the side.
It's been 3 months since I stopped using minoxidil, and the hairs I lost, they didnt come back.
I'm gonna post some pictures to you to see. I took this pictures today.
In this pictures you can see some rarefaction on the hairline and some bald spots on the area close to the ear, even though it's not that visible, because I shaved my hair on the sides to disguise it. But when my hair grows, the bald spots get really visible.
I didn't take pictures of the right side because it doesn't bother me at all. It's just as its always been. But there's one picture of it.

Well. I bought Finasteride 2 months ago, but because of my doubts, I haven't taken it so far.
Especially because of fear.
Because it goes through my mind: "The reason was Minoxidil and not DHT"
"If I take Finasteride, shedding can be worst than with minoxidil"
The left side of my head, close to the ear, is really worst because of it, and I didn't recover my hair so far. And it's an area which is imune to DHT.
On the crown area I didn't see any difference, even though I used minoxidil for 6 months there.
What do you guys think? Should I take Finasteride?
I'm about to get crazy with this. When I'm going to take it, I think about minoxidil, that it was the reason, and not DHT.
I'd like your opinions, and again, sorry for english mistakes.
Thank you so much!
