It depends what you mean by results, It took 14 months before I was sure finasteride was working for me. I didnt get any regrowth but after 14 months my hair was slightly better than base line.
Now 7 years later my hair is still slghtly better than before I started and there has been no further loss, maintenance alone should be considered success.
I've read about a few cases of it happening, and I really hope it does for me because I'm at about 14 months now and my hair looks worse than when I started.

I'm nearly 1 year on 1/5 Proscar, and up until around 8th month everything was fine, i.e I'm fairly positive that I was maintaining + slight regrowth/thickening.
But after that 8th month till now, I'm quite sure the situation is worsening.
Maybe it's some shed after which hair will start growing thicker? But if it is, it's weird that it's going on for so long.
I think I'll wait until second year as I have no serious sides
I was on finasteride for 14 months, and decided to stop it last earlier this month because I didn't see any results. I wonder if I should have stayed on it..
When you say you "didn't see any results"...do you mean you didn't see any REGROWTH? Because just the cessation of hairloss would still be considered a success.
I've been on a very strange journey as well (on both finasteride & minoxidil)! until about 7 months I didn't see much difference - some new vellus hairs around temples which looked promising.
Then started shedding from months 7-10 which was pretty scary! Then from 10-12 it started improving, possibly better than baseline and I assumed it would continue to gain thickness and more terminal hairs in the temples.
But since month 12-14 (now) i've started to shed again (i still have quite a few hairs on my temples but there seem thinner again as if they are reversing to miniaturization again).
I really have no idea where this is going but just hope it will eventually stabilise at baseline levels at least....If not I might try dutasteride
During the last 14 months I have also alternated a few times between Liquid and Foam rogaine/kirkland so not sure if this might be causing the constant shedding cycles?
