Do You Guys Think I Have A Chance With This?

Hey guys. I am new here. I've been suffering hair loss for nearly 8 years now. Pretty much diffuse all over the top. I unfortunately must use toppik every day when i'm going out unless i can wear a hat. In the past i've used RU with no results, and i've also used finasteride and had side effects which persisted for over 4 years. thankfully i am 100% back to normal.

I still think i have a chance to be a handsome bastard if i can manage to stop my hairloss from progressing, but as the powerful treatments are out the window so to speak, what do you guys think of the following idea:

---

Nizoral 2% EOD and kept on head for 20 mins. on the days between, regenpure DR, for 30 mins.
minoxidil 3-4 ML per night.
Pumpkin seed oil tablets.
detumescence therapy 2 x 20 mins.

----

i'm aware that PSO and DT are probably bullshit but it's easy enough for me to throw into a daily routine just on the off chance they do anything. I actually think i can tolerate nizoral 2% amazingly well. i've been using it for years, but never kept it on my scalp very long. I've also been using minoxidil for years already. Anyone tried an approach similar to this before? IE, alot of minoxidil, and keeping nizoral on for a longer time and frequently?

I'm taking pics once a month by the way.

Seems like a decent regimen.. worth a shot. Ever considered dissolving a couple finasteride tablets in your minoxidil and using topically?

I've actually taken finasteride topically in the past when Dr. Lee was still in action and it actually caused me the "ball ache" side people complain about. I read that somewhere once, that finasteride has a pretty pretty flat dose response curve, which means that the smallest amounts of it getting into the blood stream will have a large effect, despite the trace amounts. Maybe that's why it caused me trouble. thanks for the suggestion though man!

I've taken it both orally and topically.. orally gave me mega brain fog and I dosed off of it... I use it now mixed with minoxidil topically at a very low dose and haven't experienced the same sides. I wish there were more research on topical finasteride :/

ah cool, it's good to hear that you aren't getting sides from it. The fact that Dr. Lee sold it in the past suggests that it actually could work though . out of curiosity, what percentage of finasteride do you put in your minoxidil? if i remember correctly, the amount of finasteride in dr.lee's xandrox was like 0.1%, or 1%. it was low, i just can't remember haha. I hope you have success with it! keep us updated :D

I drop two 1mg tablets in a kirkland liquid 5% solution.. not really sure what that equates to. I may continually step up the dosage.

Have you ever considered topical spironolactone? I've been contemplating that for months and months, the new s5 cream sounds interesting, just the price tag on it is ridiculous. I've been thinking of making my own spironolactone topical.

No finasteride = eventually bald.

Topical is always secondary. It is not as effective as pill administration, which targets your entire scalp through the blood.

It didn't matter how many snake oils you add, withoutnfonsteride your entire scalp erodes. Spot treating bald areas is a cope...

Once you have Androgenetic Alopecia/male pattern baldness your entire scalp slowly bald. Go from male pattern baldness NW2 to diffuse NW6 over night.

I didn't actually know there was a new S5 cream. Wonder if here are any decent success stories with it.

@shookwun deep down, i think you are right man, but oral finasteride is simply off the cards for me. Like i said, it took me around 4 years to get back to pre finasteride self. Granted i did take it when i was rather young. 19 to be precise. Maybe it wouldn't screw me up as much now that i'm older. I just can't risk it though. I'm gonna try battle hair loss hard for one more year then if i fail, i'll just become a bald and bearded man... :D :'(

@Goldee Lox hope you can keep us updated on your progress with topical finasteride. hope you don't get sides. if you do, take note of the dosage i guess and drop it down a little accordingly. You probably have to wait a good 4-6 months to know if it's actually working though

Like I said, why not give topical finasteride a try? Buy some generics online, or get a script and just throw a pill or two in the minoxidil you're already using.
