Do thinning temples mean your whole donor area is effected or does it have nothing to do with it? And also, does propecia prevent my temple hairs from further thinning?

Temple and donor/side hair are different. Many lose temples and keep donor hair.

And also, does Propecia prevent my temple hairs from further thinning?

For some yes, for some no. In my case, I only starting losing temple hair after starting propecia. 20 months daily use and I'm a still losing. Your experience could be very different.

A lot of people lose there temple points before early onset temple loss (NW2)

these tend to go first for a lot of people. Grandpa NW7 sides, before temple loss.


Those who are lucky keep them.


Also common to lose your temple points, and experience retro around the neck, nape, and along the sides of your ears.

Doesn't matter though. Doctors dont extract grafts out of these zones as they tend to thin with age.

This is the safest area of extraction, below, and above (1 inch are danger zones). Depends on your Norwood pattern,


feel the bumpy bone at the back of your head. pretty much 1 inch below, and 1 inch above are considered extraction zones

Yeah, I see before/after pics where temple points are transplanted all the time.

Solid info guys, I always thought people who's temple points were thinning were doomed, the back of My head is def thicker than temple point area. Let's just hope with upcoming treatments I won't need an hair transplant.

@cyrusthegreat@hotmail.com , I've been on finasteride 4 months again now, def noticed my temples getting a little thinner this time around. Hope finasteride can preserve them as they are what makes my nw2.5 look Decent when I style my hair, without them my profile is finished.
