Do Systems Last Indefinitely Without Use (production Hold)

Hi everyone,

I just got this text from my salon:

“I'm sending out a formal email this weekend... but supplies of hair systems even stock systems are now running very very low I'm going to start reserving systems for clients now I would definitely advise picking up a new one to make sure you'll actually be able to get one next time around... In fact I would buy as many as you can while we can still get our hands on them and I can hold them for you”

I’m wondering whether ordering systems in advance is pointless; ie, do they deteriorate with time even without being worn? Sitting in a plastic bag or a case? Specifically we are talking about UTS systems here.

Also, is this true? I know there were concerns over customs but my understanding from the other posts I saw is that there isn’t an issue with stock systems right now. Maybe the supply is drying up?

thanks all stay healthy

A month ago it was expected that custom systems would be flowing through again soon.

I'm not sure if it's looking likely. Perhaps the stock system supply was not sufficient for this long.

Hair systems are the new toilet paper. Now that inventory may be in short supply, people will hoard them and dry up inventory.

I imagine hair system companies got their last stock fulfillments a month or two ago, and won't get any more until they open the border to North Korea again (that's where all the bases are ventilated now). So, the only source left is the limited supply they already received from the factories, and those will sell out.

Make sure you have one extra unit now. Nobody knows when the border will open and new inventory will come, but it could be months. I would guess 2 months personally.

I keep my backup in a gallon ziploc bag in a dark drawer. If you haven't handled it or washed it, I wouldn't expect it to dry out within a year.

To answer the original question, they last pretty much indefinitely if stored in a ziplock bag in a drawer. The only thing I have found that deteriorates is thinskin horseshoe rims and taping patches. They crack up and degrade, but it takes a long time - probably 18 months+. Even then, the piece would still be wearable.

They do last a long time if stored properly. I think lace bases will store better than skin according to my supplier.

I've been keeping for more than half a year just in my wardrobe, not in a bag. Can't say anything has happened to them.
